Here is as far as we got today getting cabinets, bookcases, fridge and some kits in. Will keep updating as things get put out there. It was a garage that had a lot of junk in it till I decided to remodel and I love it. Have a blue indoor/outdoor carpet on the concrete floor. My daughter from WY is here helping me out moving stuff in. I have another sewing cabinet in my living room to go out plus a cutting table and a storage cabinet bought them reasonable instead if brand new. Only new one I bought is housing my brother innovis 3000. I am having a ramp built by someone who does that type of work. Backed up to mid October

Lovely!! Looks like you are off to a great start! Keep us up to date on the progress.

amyjo 09-01-2018 09:34 PM

I also have an “original ScrapBox” to get moved in. Hopefully it gets in there tomorrow, had just purchased the big cabinet u see in there that was just delivered this past Tuesday. I bought my machines n the koala cabinets from a lady in Bismarck who is a good friend of mine now.

What a nice huge space! Now maybe you need a heater so you can work in the wintertime. I have She-shed envy!:D

Tartan 09-02-2018 04:06 AM

Great looking sewing room!

quiltingcandy 09-02-2018 07:49 PM

It looks fantastic! Don't worry about getting it right the first time - I moved into my sewing room 12 years ago and still make changes. And each change is fun and exciting.

Need to put stuff away so have room for the rest. See my ScrapBox on the sidewall. Has lots of empty boxes just begging to be filled. Idk why that one turned they were all the same b4.

jmoore 09-03-2018 02:29 AM

It didn’t take long for you to fill up your new space. I hope you enjoy many happy hours in your new sewing room.

coopah 09-03-2018 05:48 AM

amyjo 09-03-2018 06:14 PM

I plan on it when everything is put where it belongs

Jingle 09-03-2018 06:48 PM

WOW you and your Daughter got a lot done today. You have lots of places to put things, always nice to have.
It is going to be wonderful.

SusieQOH 09-04-2018 05:36 AM

What a nice big room for you!!! You're going to love it.

amyjo 09-04-2018 08:25 PM

I wished this was all my stuff. I have lots of fabric to make its way to the new home. Plus lots of organizing yet and still trying to get back on my feet after spending most of the summer in hospital and a rehab home

cathyvv 09-04-2018 08:45 PM

So glad you are home and able to get yourself back in shape AND set up a huge space to be your sewing room!

Ariannaquilts 09-04-2018 09:24 PM

You are truly blessed, you have your health back and now you have this fantastic space to make the most incredible sewing studio. How big does your desk open up to be? Is your space insulated for the winter? I am so excited for you. I'm in the process of updating my studio and I can't wait until everything is where I want it to be.

Sheryllyn 09-05-2018 09:05 AM

Wow!! If that was my sewing room I’d put a bed in there and never leave except to get the necessities like more quilting supplies…oh and food.

amyjo 09-05-2018 08:33 PM

I just step out from my kitchen. Yes it’s insulated for winter needs a furnace yet. The propane tank is out back. I am not really into “best shape” as I couldn’t wait to get out of rehab place. Too many elderly in there who were not really “here” anymore if u know what I mean. I didn’t want to be waited on so much that when I did get home I couldn’t do anything. I had two daughters and a grandson who helped to bring some of my stuff out. They’ll get a real shock when they get my fabric all in one place. I’ve been squirreling away fabri when I worked.

amyjo 09-05-2018 08:35 PM

I need to get a ramp installed going out the kitchen yet. Waiting on estimate. Need to go back inside bc bathroom is in there, unable to put even a portapotty (camper style) in there. Too short

KellyPA 09-09-2018 04:18 PM

Great space!

joyce888 09-16-2018 11:59 AM

Enjoying the progress.

amyjo 09-17-2018 07:12 AM

My sister came to visit over the weekend and we got quite a lot done. I’m played out from all the exercise putting it away. Am so glad she is so close 400 miles that she can come one weekend a month and we see. Will be so nice when all done

Onetomatoplant 09-24-2018 07:10 AM

It’s going to be awesome! Great room!

Jordan 09-24-2018 11:17 AM

amyjo 10-12-2018 07:06 PM

Still lots to put away and my dingo cabinet to get out here yet, but my sister was here from grand forks so we got a lot out here. I have to put my fabric on boards when the carpenter gets finished. She’ll come over to help with that too. Note the old quilt laying out is one from one of the carpenters that his mom made sewn on sheets that I’m going to put thin batting in with a pretty blue back n tie

amyjo 11-06-2018 09:08 PM

Still working on putting stuff away. I did decide to put my fat qtrs in the loaf acrylic units & into my ScrapBox. They aren’t in it yet bc I need to move my sewing cabinet around. Wish the carpenter would come back n finish n take his tools home with him so I can put my dingo cabinet under the window and have it open to use

It must be so nice ot have a large dedicated space.

amyjo 11-08-2018 09:31 PM

Well I’ll tell u I used to sew in a tiny bedroom. Now my husband has died n left me with a garage I couldn’t park my car in during the winter so I decided to convert to a dedicated sewing studio. I still have lots left to move in as my skid shack that we were going to use couldn’t bc of not being able to walk out in the snow n the slippery floors. I guarantee u that I sewed many many years in a tiny bedroom

I’ve done some more organizing so here’s some pictures one I can’t get to load n idk why they went sideways after posting

amyjo 12-03-2018 03:16 PM

The big cupboard is being used to store my batiks. Looking for some under bed totes like I have that fit in there to keep fabric clean. The lateral file cabinet has my fleece in it. I have a book case next to it that I can’t get to load.

amyjo 01-04-2019 01:35 PM

My ScrapBox is the big cabinet opened on opposite wall from ramp. I was so fortunate to see on a fb marketplace ad the other day for a damaged one. I grabbed it for my sister who quilts n makes totes/bags purses crochets beautiful doilies. It had a damaged door n my sil is picking it up n bringing it here til she can get her g son’s pickup n haul it to grand forks. She’s in 7th heaven as she really loved mine
