We all had to start someplace.........I have THREE places for my sewing. Cut in the kitchen using the island........Sew/iron in the laundry/office, stash in the guest bed room........So much fun..........At this time, I don't see a change in this arrangement......Had it this way for five years........I can see many quilts in my future. enjoy your space and soon you will have so mu ch fabric, UFO's, and other things to use in your quilting, you will have your room FULL.
Happy quilting

For years my sewing "room" was a closet with bi-fold doors and an old desk with closet shelf above it. My opinion is that organization is key for a small area and actually more efficient than larger spaces. Too much space, too much accumulation, and you don't know what you have, so it doesn't get used. When we moved from that house, I restricted myself to one wall of the 10 ft. x 13 ft. laundry room plus an ironing board. (I have three "empty" bedrooms now since we are officially empty-nesters and I refuse to move my sewing stuff into one of them because I know I will just grow to fill it and not use half of what is in there.) My custom cabinet builder husband built me some beautiful, custom designed cabinets/sewing center for my sewing area and I try to keep it organized and limit my stash to what fits there. Otherwise I just buy fabrics for the project at hand. I love your uncluttered look, and hope you can keep it that way. You will gradually add to it I am sure...maybe organizing things on the walls and things with drawers under your tables, but if you can stay organized, that space will give you many years of sewing pleasure! Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes I wish I could just convince myself to toss everything I have and start all over again... like some of the posters above, I have so much stuff and it takes up so much room, that I end up spending all of my time organizing it and less time sewing. Then, I still can't find what I want/need. It gets very discouraging to have an out-of-control stash. Boy, I sound like a downer, don't I?! That wasn't my intention. What I meant to say is - I love your cute little space and I'm sure you will have tons of fun there!!

The chest has my fabric and batting. I have those little black containers holding my cut pieces.

It is fairly large. I do not have closets in it, so that gives me more room. The walk-in closet is accessible in the master bath.

Looks like a great start to me.

Mine is the most important word. No matter how small or big, it is all mine.

I so agree. We sometimes forget what a blessing it is to have a dedicated sewing space at all! I remember my first--it was a corner of the master bedroom. I couldn't sew after hubby went to bed. I then graduated to a corner of the living/dining surrounded by mobile shelving units in our 2nd apartment, and so on and so on till now I have a whole giant room in the basement (or at least it seemed so when we first moved in) just for my crafting "stuff". Sometimes I really miss my little cubby in the corner. I literally could reach everything without getting out of my chair. I never lost anything in there.

The older I get the more I believe that less is more...enjoy what you have. When you get too much it just complicates things and gets in the way. Nice setup..just enjoy it :)

I started like that 3 years ago, now I have a 10x32 studio...And i am running out of space out there! I also Love the tables.

I started out sewing again about 10 months ago. Just buy a little at a time and only when it's on sale. Joann's runs some great sales and if you sign up on their web sight and on your smart phone if you have one (Apps) you will get lots of coupons. The good thing about Joann's is they let you use all your coupons as long as the items aren't on sale. But you can always use the % off total purchase coupon even on sale items. I don't think I've ever purchased anything that wasn't on sale Lol. Good luck.
