Sewing machine is used in another part of the house where I also use a mini iron for the initial piece work. HOWEVER, hubby set up a Conex, (a storage/shipping container) 8 1/2' x 40, insulated, air conditioned, that I can use as I will, so I see a change in the future.

I reorganize when a project is finished...Until then...honestly...I don't care!

I'm having trouble getting my sewing room organized. Unfortunately my file cabinet is in my sewing room. So for some reason everyone in the house thinks everything needs to get dumped on my sewing table. (i.e. bills, junk mail, screw drivers, etc.) Still haven't figured out this behavior.

I bought an oilfield skid shack that is getting pretty much together. Need to hook electric yet, but right I am trying to concentrate on the fact that my hubby of 44+ years passed sea very suddenly, so not in hurry to get electrician out to hook it up. I can see with elec. cord run thru the door.

Very sorry for your loss. I hope sewing gives you some comfort at this time.
I have to start keeping my sewing and crafty stuff in its proper space. For some reason, I've found some stuff squirreled away in our bedroom. Just makes for unnecessary clutter. |
Spent the afternoon organizing the sewing room after finishing so many projects! So by tomorrow afternoon it should all be tamed again. And it starts all over....

I put my cloth and cut up piece in a tote box and put it in the closet - I have a small collection so far... I call it my 'winter bin' because when hours get cut at work I have a ton of fabric to choose from to make stuff with.

Wait! we're suppose to organize our sewing rooms? LOL! Seriously, since I always have more than one project in the sewing room (long arm room I do keep organized cause it's in the basement and others use the space at times) I am not one of those that organizes and cleans after each quilt. So for me I try to put things back where they belong and generally do a total "dig out" either before my guild's annual garage sale or when I can't find something that I know is there!

Start small. Organize one thing.... such as your rulers, or your batiks or your books. Then take a small break and pick something else small... zippers, thread or maybe a sewing basket/tote. Keep at it and you'll be in good shape, but try to do just one thing at a time.
