Project storage

Here is the way I store projects. Take the picture and after you have all the projects, boxed, with the numbers on the outside - you can print off the pictures and post them on a pin up board or wall.

Very clever!

Love your block and love this idea. Saw similar idea few months back.Went to a couple pizza shops and asked if they had some boxes they could sell. I thought for the price they wanted, I'll just stick to my cheap gift shirt boxes you can buy at Wallyworld. I have a few projects stored similar fashion with name of party going to. Photo on top! Pattern inside with instructions. If anything ever happens to me, my family and friends will know where I stopped.

Just saw online where I could order case of 50 12" for $19.00 + shipping and handling. May do that or see if SAm's has any! Hmmm!

I like this idea. Since I always make a sample block before I start this will well work for me. Thanks for posting.

What a super idea! I have a bunch of my projects (PHDs - projects half done) in Tastycake boxes. They are sturdy and a nice size plus I get them for free when my brother up north sends them to us ..... full of tasty goodness of course. However, I have to open every one until I find the project I am looking for so numbering them and taking a photo is a wonderful way to fix that job. Thanks for posting that tip.

Nice idea.

Very cool idea! And you don't have to print them if you save the pics in a 'Project' folder on your pc.

I bought most of my boxes from a company called smart and final. They supply restaurants and come in bundles. Can't remember the price, but they were unprinted and reasonable. I recycle as I finish a project, I just take off the number and put a new one on.

Great idea, I tend to put pieces in ziplock bags and put each project in a shoebox. Tween my twins and I we go through a lot of sneakers/trainers

NEW clean pizza boxes have been popular for over a decade. Clever idea to post a photo.

tessagin 01-17-2016 07:23 AM

Other day I tried the large Ziploc bags. Went right back to my 14x14 scrapbook, clear containers. I can see what I have. I have 8 of those and all the fabric, patterns and photos fit right in and they have carry handles. Don't have to worry about bugs getting in. I use silica packets from shoe boxes and medicine bottles to keep from any moisture accumulation. I can get a lot of fabric and batting into one of those boxes.

IKEA has some "pizza box sized" boxes. They're a little pricey, but VERY sturdy. I wasn't sure if I liked them or not, so I only bought two. I think for me, the clear, Dollar General plastic boxes work best for me. Seeing the colors seems to help motivate me to finish more quickly... sort of... sometimes... which is why I'm on the UFO Challenge thread.
:D

If number boxes, keep list on bullitin board or notebook, when finished- put next one in and on list. love it with pictures.
