I love your closet!

wolph33 02-26-2013 05:29 AM

you did a very neat makeover-awesome

michelleoc 02-26-2013 05:57 AM

Thanks everyone, for the kind words. I was so proud of myself, I just kept going in to remind myself of all the work I had done!

To answer a few of your questions - it took me about 4 days to finish the job (my DH says once I get a "bee in my bonnet" everything else goes by the wayside until the job is done.
The shelves are from Lowe's. They probably have them at Home Depot. Amazingly, they fit EXACTLY into the space. They are in there so tight, even a California earthquake won't affect them.
For the fat quarters, I rolled them around a 4 inch ruler, just like I did with a larger ruler for the larger pieces of fabric.

Thanks again, everyone, for the kind words.

Do you make house calls?

gabeway 02-26-2013 06:58 AM

Awesome job!

kathdavis 02-26-2013 07:02 AM

Impressive.

michelleoc 02-26-2013 07:07 AM

You know, house calls is a good idea! It's always more fun to help other people, rather than doing what we need to be doing ourselves! Another pair of eyes won't go amiss either.

My goodness - that is a LOT of fabric! You did a great job organizing everything.

Really! the same space?? You accomplished a lot of folding and organizing. I am super jealous and I love your blues and greens!

Cogito 02-26-2013 12:35 PM

Hhhmmmm....not familiar with mini bolts. can you buy them empty and fill with already purchased fabric?

Nammie to 7 02-26-2013 07:44 PM

You did an amazing job organizing everything. You must feel really good. Wish I had the room to organize my fabric that way!

Pilgrim 02-26-2013 10:19 PM

It takes a lot of time to reorganize but looks great. Most of my fabric room is reorganized but I have decided to take some time each day to do more so I can still sew. I love to shop in my stash.

Yakkity 02-27-2013 06:57 AM

You have it fixed up so nice. Now you an find everything!!

petthefabric 03-01-2013 06:51 PM

Once upon a time, I lots of fabric stored on the shelf in my closet. The weight was too much and eventually it caved. So I suggest you reinfore the mounts on the shelves.

Nice job.

mary123 03-03-2013 02:56 PM

Wow---so much material and so organized. How impressive!

mgmsrk 03-05-2013 12:55 PM
