Quilting cupboard/shelves
1 Attachment(s)
My husband and son made this quilting cupboard/shelves for me to store my quilts. It is made from old boards from a granary that was taken down many years ago on our farm. The granary was built in the middle 1800s so the wood is very old and beautiful. I love how it looks with the colorful quilts.
Sorry for how the picture looks on its side. |

Lucky you to have such a nice cabinet to store your pretty quilts.

Very nice cabinet and a perfect place to store your beautiful quilts. You are lucky to have a dh and son that knows how to make this for you.

beautiful shelving unit. i love the story of the woods' source. i love old wood or unique woods. i took the liberty of saving your pic to my ipad so i could flip it around upright, hope you don't mind. then i noticed more detail of that incrediblestar quilt wallhanging. that is absolutely beautiful!!
..might i also make a suggestion? my hubs built me beautiful set shelving units years ago out of blue stain pine. he finished it with what i think your hubs finished yours. they both look the same. after a time i noticed some of my growing fabric collection had slightly yellowish tint to areas of folded fabric that was in direct contact with the shelves. i started lining the shelves with folded strips of muslin sheets which then also developed yellow tinge. maybe a shelf liner of acid free packing paper or something similar would be a good idea to place between your gorgeous quilts and the wood shelves? |
