Ready For Drywall!
 

Howdy y'all,

So the contractor sent out a couple of able bodies yesterday, and they got almost everything out of my new space. All that's left in there now is furniture that will be staying in there and a couple of things that my son needs to find a new place to store. And Sadie. Sadie the Great Pyranees fur baby will be staying. Now for a dry day so the drywall can be brought in. Check out all of my outlets! I have a total of 23 in my room!!

Love how you put all those outlets up high. It will make rearranging your sewing space so much easier.

That's one of the tips I have gotten from paying attention on this board! I don't like having to crawl around under furniture to plug things in. I'm lazy like that! LOL!

My hubby did the same for me. Half the walls are done with them high and the rest low....that way I have options.

Love your fur baby.....almost had DH talked into one, but the shedding made him shudder. He's adorable. The dog. Not my husband ;)

When the contractor put in the outlets in my outbuilding/studio, I thought he was crazy putting the outlets up high like that. Boy was I wrong! So much easier to plug things in instead of having to crawl around on the floor trying to find the darn outlets. Guess I was the crazy one! You will definitely love having them up higher like that. I'll bet you are really anxious to get it all done and move in. Seems like the clock ticks too slowly when you are waiting for something like this to get done.

It will be so nice to get your studio done.

Do you have a place for your design wall? I have one outlet that is partially covered by my wall. I was not happy with the way that turned out.

Looks like you have planned your new space well...Thanks for sharing your progress and excitement.

One more thing that would be really helpful would be to have half of each outlet controlled by a switch at the door. I have that in my living room, and every night when I turn off the switch, the TV and all the gadgets connected to it are really OFF. There are a few lights on that curcuit, too, so I can easily see if that switch is off.

did you put heat in the floor. we really like our floor heat. set at 68 and feels like about 74( to warm for me )
but i have a fan.

I'm so jealous. My 12x12 space keeps getting smaller and smaller. We have the land and the money, just can't get him to agree!!

Awesome room! And you'll never be sorry you put the outlets up high. And you can never have too many. Make sure you post photos of the finished room - and all the progress. I love seeing everyone's sewing spaces.

You must be so excited. I'm building a greenhouse and love your idea of putting the outlets up high. I'll have to remember that. Enjoy your new space! :)

I envy you that wonderful space! Enjoy every square inch of it. Make your fur baby a small quilt to nap on and he will be in dog heaven!

When my husband had my sewing/quilting room built, he had the outlets about half way up the wall. Also the upper half of the walls are pegboard. I have a place to hang all my rulers and thread. I love it.

I hope you are going to put insulation in the ceiling.
When I had my sewing room built I put all my outlets just a couple inches above where the tables would set. But I put in too many windows; no wall space to hang much. :(

I have plugs half way up the wall also. love it :thumbup:

Great planning! I think you are currently the envy of lots of other quilters here.

All those outlets are great, make sure you have sufficient circuits for all of them

Great space. I like that you are designing it from the ground up! High outlets are something I wouldn't have thought about. Very smart. Enjoy when it's done.
