Rearranged, again

I finished my quilt room about a year ago. The room is such that I cannot rearrange the furniture but I am always rearranging the stuff. Here it is in its most recent reincarnation...a cozy mix of function (I like my fabric visible) and treasures (one of which is a sewing machine made for Marshall Field's)

Nice, nice and nice! I also like to move stuff around and rearrange...but some of the furniture can't really be easily rearranged either! I still try and sometimes have gotten myself "pinned" in the room, pushing and pulling inch-by-inch before I realize I don't have enough room to get to the other side o the room, etc.

Love your sewing machine, your organization and your Longaberger baskets! Enjoy your room! Nora

I am trying to rearrange my quilting stuff too so that I can FIND IT when I NEED IT!! You did a terrific job in getting organized.

You have a lovely work space. Wish I had that much room.

Sewing room

I like your setup. In my room, I just added a "Rocketeer" in a cabinet and am finally out of room for more machines. My sister is my go to for fabric. She makes some small fabric shops look smaller because of the amount of fabric she has in stock. Sometimes I think I am the machine collector, 22 in the sewing room and a few more in the shop, and she is the fabric collector!:D If I ever build another house, it will start out as a large commercial style kitchen surrounded by small bedrooms w/large walk in closets and a very large sewing room, you know, the kind that can showcase my collection and be able to accommodate a large frame long arm quilting machine. But, back to reality, as my wife often says "dream on, just dream on":(.

Love your room. Couldn't help but notice you have a few Nancy Drew books on the shelf too. I loved reading those books when I was a kid.

You have some very nice machines, I love the decals on your Marshal Fields machine they are so unique and very art deco. I also love being able to look at my fabrics there is something so inspiring about being able to look and then the mind takes over creating different possibilities. Enjoy sewing and thank you for sharing your warm inviting work area.

Your neatly wrapped fabric with accessories on each shelf look very homey .And organized .And inviting. And...well, pretty much a quilter's happy place!

I too rearrange my room but it doesn't last long because I purchase new fabric then wonder where I am going to put it, then the room becomes a mess and I go out to my dining room where I have another sewing machine and use it to sew because I just can't get to my embroidery machine because the room is too messy. I will get to it probably just before Christmas so I can finish off the Christmas table mats I started for gifts for my girls last year. My aim is to finish them this year. Now that I have committed to this forum I will have to get them completed won't I.

Do you have any idea how old your Marshall Field's machine is?

None whatsoever. I bought it probably 35 years ago at an "antique" store. It is run by a crank on the handwheel. That and the name are what drew me to it. And I probably paid way too much for it back then.

It's beautiful.
