Scrap Storage....

1 Attachment(s)
I've only been quilting since 2009 but boy am I accumulating scraps! They were stuffed here and there in boxes and bins. I'd remember ahving something that would be perfect but finding it would be impossible. So this is what I came up with. My requirements were
It must be cheap!
It must fit in my space
and it must be cheap!
It must serve double duty

here's what ds and I came up with! I still need to paint it one day but so far it is working good. I can easily throw a scrap in it's color box and keep things a little neater. Plu it's fun to pull out the boxes and look!
I used scrap wood from a project of dh's and I bought the boxes.....less than 10 bucks in the whole thing! Plus paint when I decide on a color.

Great idea! Scraps seem to multiply in storage, don't they?

MothrNatr 04-14-2013 06:16 AM

I like the look of this but I would put tops on the boxes to keep out the dust, etc. Love the pegboard idea as well.

omacookie 04-14-2013 06:23 AM

You are my kind of friend. Use what you have to make another use for it.Love the boxes. I would put a color scrap on the front for easier looking.. Rescrue. Recycle. Reuse. Thats what Lara says on Flea Market Flip. Hugs

roserips 04-14-2013 12:17 PM

Wonderful! I think I would color code the boxes so the yellow box would be yellow scrapes etc.

mjhaess 04-14-2013 12:30 PM

tessagin 04-15-2013 06:43 AM

I use the same boxes, also. You can purchase those at the different office supply stores and just about any where they sell office supplies. Walmart also has them.

Jingle 04-15-2013 12:00 PM

Great idea, nice looking helper too. We buy those boxes at Office Depot, to hold files we have to keep.

janetter 04-15-2013 03:35 PM

That is a wonderful and very inexpensive idea! Looks like you don't need a whole lot of woodworking experience to put it together, which is great!
