You are one lucky girl!

Beautiful job on the cabinet! My hubby is a woodworker too, But we're waiting to have the shop built at our new house right now. I have a long list of projects for him to do, but new sewing room furniture is on that list! However, he did do a great job adding an airlift to an older Parsons cabinet I found on craigslist.

quiltinglady-1 03-10-2014 02:17 PM

WOW!! I love it! Quite the undertaking. He's a keeper for sure.

Great husbands are hard to find - Lucky you.

katesnanna 03-10-2014 03:25 PM

Oh! for a DH who is clever with his hands. Lucky you in more ways than one. Beautiful work.

milikaa1 03-10-2014 05:52 PM

That is very beautiful, congratulations.

Oh my, that's a piece of art. Have to ask -- the two different woods...what are they? What a sweet guy he is to put that much work into that for you! I'm not sure I'd get much sewing done....I'd be drooling and oohing and awwwing over the cabinet....

Mdaniels 03-11-2014 01:36 AM

The darker wood is black walnut that was salvaged from some construction and the lighter wood, I believe, is oak. It's not light! But we were able to carry it upstairs without hurting ourselves. I think the machine lift is probably as heavy as the rest of the cabinet itself!

Absolutely gorgeous. My husband is currently working on that exact same cabinet for my sewing machine and serger. I've asked him to put casters on the bottom so I can move it if I need to.

Mariposa 03-11-2014 07:08 AM

Super cabinet! Good looking machine on top too!

rilene 03-11-2014 07:32 AM

Beautiful cabinet! Your machine is great, too!

Lakeview Quilting 03-11-2014 08:02 AM

Yes, it's absolutely beautiful! Hubby is definitely a keeper.

ffpln 03-31-2014 06:56 PM

my father made me the same cabinet in cherry wood . the only thing different he did was add casters to the bottom behind the legs

Gannyrosie 04-01-2014 04:49 AM

Such a gift of love and so well made. He's special and so is that cabinet.

stitchengramie 04-01-2014 06:58 AM

Oh my! How beautiful. Your husband did such wonderful craftsmanship on the cabinet.

LynnVT 05-06-2014 07:31 AM

Looking at the headline of this post, I don't think her husband made it himself - he had it made for her by someone else. Am I wrong about that?

jeanharville 05-06-2014 01:49 PM

Lynn, that was the impression I got too. But either way he is a jewel of a husband to be so thoughtful and I know you feel so loved to receive such a gift. Thanks for sharing this with us.

KwiltyKahy 05-06-2014 02:33 PM

It is beautiful. Maybe I can get my son motivated. MAYBE

maggie_1936 05-06-2014 02:35 PM

Nan C 05-07-2014 06:13 AM

Wow how special is that? Enjoy and it looks like you will have a great time doing all your quilting. Happy quilting :)

heartofwisdom 05-07-2014 08:42 PM

Wow, does he have a brother. :)

Mdaniels 05-08-2014 01:36 AM

Ha ha, yes as a matter of fact, a widowed brother, too. But mine's the keeper :)

As to the earlier post, yes, he had it made, he did not make it himself, but either way, its a great table.

nunnyJo 05-08-2014 02:50 AM

omgoodness, that is awesome
