Beautiful job on the cabinet! My hubby is a woodworker too, But we're waiting to have the shop built at our new house right now. I have a long list of projects for him to do, but new sewing room furniture is on that list! However, he did do a great job adding an airlift to an older Parsons cabinet I found on craigslist.

WOW!! I love it! Quite the undertaking. He's a keeper for sure.

Great husbands are hard to find - Lucky you.

Oh! for a DH who is clever with his hands. Lucky you in more ways than one. Beautiful work.
|
That is very beautiful, congratulations.

Oh my, that's a piece of art. Have to ask -- the two different woods...what are they? What a sweet guy he is to put that much work into that for you! I'm not sure I'd get much sewing done....I'd be drooling and oohing and awwwing over the cabinet....

The darker wood is black walnut that was salvaged from some construction and the lighter wood, I believe, is oak. It's not light! But we were able to carry it upstairs without hurting ourselves. I think the machine lift is probably as heavy as the rest of the cabinet itself!

Absolutely gorgeous. My husband is currently working on that exact same cabinet for my sewing machine and serger. I've asked him to put casters on the bottom so I can move it if I need to.
|
Super cabinet! Good looking machine on top too!
