Sewing room FINISHED!!

6 Attachment(s)
Now I just need to figure out what/how to tackle the fabric room.

Here is a link to my previous post (if interested) when I started
on my mission to organize my sewing room and to MAKE my new
desk work for me in there.

Well I am HAPPY to finally have that part of the mission completed.

Here are the pictures I may have to make two posts to get all the
pictures.

The desk BARELY fits in the room.

These drawers are on the left as your going into my sewing room.

I LOVE using Command Hooks because they allow me to organize
MANY of my tools and gadgets, as well as ALL the embroidery hoops
for both my machines.

I have my netbook setup so that I can keep the lid closed and use a
larger monitor. Sure is going to be helpful when looking at the details
for embroidery designs.

I am going to use this area as a cutting center, and if/when I need
to use my Janome machine or a serger I can set it up on top and go.

The completed room at a glance.

it was a lot of hard work and long days but I am glad it is finally
finished.

At least this room, NOW it's time to move into the fabric room.
Yes I have two rooms.

Some of you may have seen a cartoon about "sending my daughter
to college so I can have her room to store more fabric".

Well that was me LOL.

That looks great! I dream of the day when I have an entire room for my sewing/crafting! I really like how you hung the embroidery hoops.

Tartan 03-31-2013 08:01 PM

Ha, and he said it wouldn't fit! Your desk and room look great!

Pilgrim 03-31-2013 08:09 PM

Your desk look similar to the one I have. I love it, makes it easy to move from machine to machine and I have a small ironing mat on it as well so I have an area to press blocks as I go. Enjoy. I have two sewing rooms as well. I took over both of my kids rooms when they got married.

What a fantastic room! Very lucky girl!!

callen 04-02-2013 07:27 AM

Wow, great job. Absolutely love that desk. So glad you could make it fit. I also have 2 rooms - my 2 daughters former bedrooms. I sew in one & cut & iron in the other. A lot of walking back & forth but that's good. Too much time sitting is not good for me as I have a bad back.

JoanneS 04-02-2013 09:48 AM

Wonderful new sewing room. What are Command hooks? I really like that you hoops are hanging where you can just grab one and use it. I'm about to reorganize my sewing rooms, and you've given me lots of ideas!

Quilty-Louise 04-02-2013 10:07 AM

lots2do 04-02-2013 01:29 PM

Nice job, hope you enjoy many days in there.

Letty 04-03-2013 09:41 AM

OH my goodness, how lucky you are, I'm sure you will great creativity in that room. We have just decided that having downsized and only having three bedrooms, one only very small that we can put up those friends we need to, and want in the second bedroom. After years of entertaining and welcoming visitors I have agreed to give the smallest room to me as a sewing room. I get up each morning and look in at it ,see the sun shining in and start my day happy.I will need to do my 'big ' projects on the dining room table, still this room will house my fabrics, my featherweights and my equipment. My lovely son said '' good for you Mum' looks great! Who wouldn't be happy.

sewmerry 04-03-2013 10:10 AM

AAahhhhh, Quilty Louise, how lucky you are to have a superb table and a fabric room. I reorganized my sewing room last month and am having a blast with the new arrangement. I have my chest freezer to cut out on ,which is the right height for me ...no back bending. I also store [or my DH does] 2 long tables which are stacked to making wide shelves and the lower one works great for a work area, when it isn't being used for further storage. It may look and sound odd but, it works for me. I only have 1 machine and 1 serger. so machines don't take a lot of space, but am craving a new machine to embroider with. Any recommendations? I'd love a closer look at your fabric!! Lucky you!!!

wolph33 04-03-2013 03:47 PM

wc00007 04-03-2013 04:27 PM

Love the room and the chair, where did you purchase it?

nstitches4u 04-03-2013 06:06 PM

Your sewing room looks great. Can't wait to see your organized fabric room.

Quilty-Louise 04-03-2013 06:10 PM

wc - I purchased the chair (actually a set of two) back in 1994
when I lived in NC.

I added thicker foam and recovered the chair a few years ago.

Wow everything so great and neatly done, you did a wonderful job, I know its a lot of work, but at least you have a studio with just everything you need, lucky gal you are! enjoy, enjoy, it's time to create timeless quilt to treasured forever.

Scraplady 04-10-2013 01:53 PM

Your hard work sure has paid off. The worst part about having my sewing room torn up while I redid it was not being able to sew! But it is so worth it in the end. I just love that corner desk with everything in easy reach.

terri bb 04-10-2013 05:08 PM

there's a lot of talent in that there room!!!! :)
