Sewing Room - Office
1 Attachment(s)
My daughters remodeled my office space to make a combination office/sewing room. The worktable is made up of 2 cubbies, some 2x4s, and table tops from Ikea. There is a 55x33" cutting mat on top of the work table. The other end of the table contains more cubbies with fabric. Batting, other supplies are stored underneath the table in rollable bins. Smaller items are stored in plastic drawers on shelving on the end wall. My office is on the opposite side of the work table. Love this combination

Looks great! I am in the process of re-thinking my sewing area.

I love your remodeled space. It looks perfect. Really like your window and all that light.
But how did you get your daughters to spruce it up? My 2 just help me make it more cluttered and messier. LOL |
Your space is beautiful. Looks like there is enough room for everything.
Great window, neat sewing room, and now it's time to get busy! Creating would be so fun in that work space.
Looks like a nice work flow and easy to keep tidy. What wonderful daughters...
Very nice!
What a nice space! I don't think any sewing room I ever had was that neat. :D
Wow - looks like heaven to me
Great space! I love your cutting table!!
It's beautiful. Now I really want to stop everything and go clean/organize my sewing room.
What a great space to play in.
Your daughters did a great job with your room. Nice cutting table and fabric storage too.
great job i like

I too have a setup similar to that. I have a room that is the size of two small bedrooms put together with a large walk-in closet. One end is my office and the other end is my sewing room. My machines sit on a long folding table in front of double windows like yours. My brother built me a cutting table similar to what you described. It sits right in the middle of the room so I can walk around it. My happy place

Nice set up! Your daughters are so thoughtful.

Thanks for all the compliments. I forgot to mention that behind the door on the right, I have all my rulers and templates hung on Command hooks. Everything at my fingertips. I should also say that my daughters are very creative and have great follow-through on their ideas. My major activity, sewing-wise is that I make baby quilts for charity purposes and that gives me a lot of satisfaction. Love this board; have picked up so many good ideas and tips.

lovely space to work in, I must do some thing with my room things just got away from me,
That looks like a very inviting space!
Great space.
Beautiful space!
Terrific! They did an awesome job.

I have a similar set-up -- my desk faces my sewing machine, ironing station (a board I covered that sits on two nightstands that have lots of drawers) and wall to wall shelves for fabric, etc. It gives me great pleasure to be in here, to look at my "stash" and design boards with all the great ideas (and some accomplishments!).
Because of a move, I've downsized from two (yes, two) large sewing rooms and am happy because my sewing room/office is well organized. If I had more room, I'd just have more stuff and it would become a burden rather than the pleasure it is now. How lovely that your daughters did it for you! |
Your great daughters did a great job on your sewing/office. It is beautiful.
Pretty great daughters!
