Six hours to clean and organize but worth it!

I spent six hours today sorting, reorganizing and cleaning my sewing room! No more danger of the dust bunnies posing a fire hazard!
I am proud of myself - hence the pictures, but now I am off to sew - sew inspired by my 'feels like new' sewing room.

and here is the closet (which likely will appear sideways - sorry):

Wow, that is clean ! Only wishing here.

landers1 02-06-2016 12:24 PM

Very nice, that is something I need to do

Sandygirl 02-06-2016 12:30 PM

Only 6 hours? Lucky you! Love the flooring btw.

Great job - Now you can enjoy your room, until it is time to do it again!

wesing 02-06-2016 02:18 PM

Nice room. I love your floor and feature wall.

ManiacQuilter2 02-06-2016 02:23 PM

Be so careful with your fabric because even indirect sunlight can fade fabrics. Been there, done that, my poor reproductions took the hit but fortunately only a few and only on the folds.

Thanks ManiacQuilter2 - the closet has a sliding door so I should be ok :)

doesn't it feel wonderful to have a clean sewing room? I did a quick tidy and vacuum of mine yesterday too. :)

Karamarie 02-07-2016 04:54 AM

Looks like you have a wonderful sewing space.

Snooze2978 02-07-2016 05:34 AM

Love the organization you have. I noticed the stools you have at each machine. Are they really comfortable for you? I just use the old fashioned rolling desk chairs as I have 1 chair for the 2 machines located at one corner of the room so I can roll back and forth at ease. Its comfortable enough since I don't sit at it all that much but just curious. Thanks.

coopah 02-07-2016 05:42 AM

Impressive! It's clean and only took 6 hours. Wonderful. Looks like you'll be productive now.

toverly 02-07-2016 06:41 AM

That must be a wonderful feeling to have it all neat. I have tried but seem to get sidetracked. Congrats, it's like a new sewing room.

Mimmis57 02-07-2016 07:22 AM

That is such a great feeling isn't it?

tessagin 02-07-2016 07:30 AM

Looks super!

I don't find them too uncomfortable - I just use them because they happened to be handy. I don't sew or quilt (or serge for that matter) for too long at a time so they work ok. Also I find that I am conscious of 'sitting up straight' when I use them, and that is good!

RedGarnet222 02-07-2016 09:43 AM

This is so funny! I did the same thing friday in two rooms. It is so nice to step into an organized sewing room.

gramquilter2 02-07-2016 11:45 AM

Nice job. I need to do this too but think it would take longer than 6 hours here.

SingerSewer 02-07-2016 12:19 PM

Your room is lovely. It looks so neat and tidy. A great place to be inspired and relax.

needles3thread 02-07-2016 01:49 PM

It's a terrific feeling to be organized. Great job.

zozee 02-07-2016 01:55 PM

Oh, wow, you really made it shine ! So neat and clean. Bet you had to stand back and admire for a while, or maybe you twirled like Julie Andrews on top of the Alps when she sings "The Sound of Music "!

Pam S 02-07-2016 02:16 PM

Oh please, please, will you come to my house and make my sewing room look like yours? I would love to sew in there.

Well there is a blizzard warning happening here today, but maybe tomorrow?

patski 02-07-2016 03:23 PM

Great. I am really glad you are cleaned up and ready to sew! I love to clean up, organize and then I am way more creative

PS Stitcher 02-07-2016 04:47 PM

Wow!! Looks great!!

caspharm 02-07-2016 04:56 PM

Very nice. I am waiting for Ikea. I keep trying and everything keeps escaping. :)

AUQuilter 02-07-2016 05:52 PM

What a great space to create! Thanks for posting. Inspirational!!

QuiltnLady1 02-07-2016 08:39 PM

What a great, clean space. DGS helped me a bit today and told me I had organized the room wrong -- unfortunately he is right but moving things around means moving my design wall(which is screwed to the wall) and I also need the big guys (DS and DSIL) to help. I still have more straightening to do -- sigh....

Sew Freak 02-08-2016 03:31 AM

your hard work was obviously worth it....very nice!!!!

jamsbuying 02-08-2016 05:46 AM

Nice! I need to work on mine...

liking quilting 02-08-2016 07:28 AM

Home today as we're having a blizzard. I should get my sewing area cleaned up too. Your's looks great!

annette1952 02-08-2016 07:32 AM

Oh that looks awesome! Mine doesn't look that nice even after I clean it! I don't have a storage area or closet. I have shelves on the wall which makes it cluttered to me in such a small room. I love it though. I just wished I had more room. Great job!

Mariposa 02-08-2016 07:54 AM

Great job! Easy to clean up. Nice amount of natural light, and I like your wall with the flowers.... :)

ladydukes 02-08-2016 05:16 PM

I can hardly wait to get rid of the CARPET in my sewing room and install laminate or ceramic tile!!

rilene 02-08-2016 08:07 PM

So neat and tidy! And pretty, too! You're inspiring!

Judith1005 02-08-2016 09:11 PM

What a beautiful room. I love the flooring! I also love your minimalist look. It would be very peaceful crafting in there. Enjoy!

DOTTYMO 02-09-2016 12:41 AM

Wow. Wish mine was the same.

Nammie to 7 02-10-2016 12:22 PM

Wow -- your room looks amazing -- guess where I'm heading next :( Don't think mine will look as good as yours tho.

Quiltngolfer 02-11-2016 12:48 PM

Wow! Now that's a neat room.
