...lol....I JUST posted on your thread "Starting Over Again"....my adjectives in that post just aren't enough! You've really got an eye for decorating a work space. All the white furniture looks so crisp and clean.... It's a wonderful space...I think it just may be my favorite...well...one of the top two... I've seen on the board. I'm still salivating over Marcia's sewing studio...if you haven't seen it you've really missed something. If ONLY I had a basement....and several vintage machines....and extra furniture... and.............................Thanks for sharing....

love this room, your sewing machines are great ,I have the same 2 on the bottom shelf.

letsquilt 10-24-2013 06:23 AM

I love your sewing area, also love your white cabinets, maybe you could move the lower one out in the middle and add another one the same highth then add a cutting table(plywood) to the top and paint white.

tessagin 10-24-2013 06:24 AM

With another cabinet similar to the white one against the wall with the cover on it, you could fashion a cutting table and have storage underneath. Just a thought. Love how you have your machines displayed. Loved your photos from yesterday.

Didn't see "letsquilt's" reply. We quilter's think so much alike it's most uncanny! Lol1

SewExtremeSeams 10-24-2013 07:20 AM

Great idea. I am in the process of emptying my china cabinet of fabric and wondered what to do with it. Thanks.

I love your sewing room. One suggestion: at your sewing desk put up a wall lamp. It gives great light and saves desk space. I got mine at Home Depot. I put a natural light bulb in mine.

That is a wonderful space you have. I had a large room for my quilting/crafting room in our house. We moved in January so I can take care of my DH's elderly aunt so now I have one desk and 1/2 of the closet. I really didn't mind losing it though because it was for a good reason. His aunt is so sweet and I love her very much. My DH decided last weekend that he was building me a new sewing room onto her house. It won't be as large but it will be a space for my stuff.

I love the cabinet for showing your vintage machines! Wonderful space you have.

fktsewing 10-26-2013 06:51 AM

ok where did you find the hutch with the sewing machines in it? That is such a great idea !!! Did you reinforce the shelves at all to accommodate the weight of the older machines? What a way to display and protect them. Great job.

coastienest 10-26-2013 05:30 PM

What a great way to display those beauties!

cowgirlquilter 10-26-2013 05:36 PM

Love the storage of the machines!!!!

tjk829 10-28-2013 08:04 AM

The china hutch belonged to my mother, she got it in the late 60's and everything is real wood! I did not reinforce any of the shelving and it is holding up great. I did repaint it , couldn't stand the "early American" finish, and it turned out better than I hoped. All of my large items store nicely in the bottom and I can access my "mature beauties" when I want to sew with them.
