Storage and ironing space

I picked up the two white shelving units from Walmart (they are very inexpensive) and covered a 1 inch piece of plywood that is approximately six feet by 24". Covered it with padding and ironing fabric. Just use a staple gun to secure the fabrics to the plywood. On the bottom of the plywood are some wood strips screwed between the shelf unit to prevent the top from sliding around. I love the huge ironing surface when the quilting projects get to large for a standard ironing board. The picture shows an opening between the two shelf units. You could fit two more shelf units in there for additional storage.

Good job. You could even screw hooks up under there to hang rulers, notions, scissors, etc. Just and idea. A lot of creative minds on here.

Very nice. A large ironing surface and storage too. Looks like a double score to me!
