Tackling the bin of unfinished projects today!

Hi everyone,
ever had one of those "productive" days, where everything needs to be clean and organized, espescially in the "Sewing department"? Well today is one of those days for me! I have an almost full bin of squares, triangles, appliques... that never got anywhere. Here's the bin sitting on my parents kitchen table for almost a week now, definetly not in the sewing room. Tackling this before my aunt comes over tomorrow.

I've doing the same, finishing projects found in my closet of "unfinished projects". Done: one baby quilt, 4 tablerunners and an octagon tabletopper. 2 table runners that I bought at a quilters sale, one needed to be quilted and bound, the other turned and quilted. YEAH!! Finished....I won't say how many more to go......

Too scared to tackle the basket. I need to build up some bravado first.

I'm feeling overwhelmed with my unfinished projects (two baby quilts that need quilting), one wedding quilt made with brocades needs the piecing finished, and 5(!!!!) quilts that need to be repaired...aghhh.....AND I need to finish Christmas stocking for new granddaughter.....

I tackled my cutting table last night. Cut some scraps for my leaders and enders project and my squares bins while I was at it. Took me quite a while but looks so good now.

:) Good luck to all of you. Guess I'll have to get off here and work on my baby quilt and five lap quilts. BrendaK

Tackled my sewing room today, got fabric squared away...but oh those scraps! I feel guilty letting them stack up, just not motivated to make them work yet. Oh well, I will keep at it until I get inspired for another scrappy quilt!

I am also trying to work on unfinished projects and organize my sewing space before the holidays. However, I think I am actually making a bigger mess. LOL

I wish I could make a dent in the sewing area. I have my grandmother collection, My Mothers collection and of course My collection. I sometimes just have to sit down and cry.

I understand the crying part. Been up in that room sorting and have not sewn a stitch on a granny gown I promised my daughter and it's getting cold.

Sometimes the bin just needs to sit for a bit, so I can gain enthusiasm, new skills, or a repair strategy.

I do not want to open up that closet of UFO's. I am very afraid I will get buried.

Good job! Keep it up and keep us posted

Just think how good you'll feel when it's all done! :)

Oh, no, don't cry....having fabric is a good thing! No matter how much or how messy!

I have started to sort my fabrics by color and size. Some are in the sewing room, some in a spare bedroom. But, that spare bedroom is needed for wrapping and storing the Christmas presents! Oh MY!! Don't know when it will get done!

Our guild had a UFO challenge. You register your UFOs and put $1.00 for each one in a kitty. Every time you finished a project (and showed it at a guild meeting) your name was put into the "hat." When the challenge was over, a name was drawn and the winner got all the cash. I don't now how many UFOs got done, but the winner got $238!

I entered eight and got two finished. Better than I would have done without the challenge.

It is difficult keeping up with all of it! Started pulling fabric for a project so it is on the ironing board, along with the fabric needed to finish a WIP, and the completed binding for a quilt that is going to be quilted on Tuesday. Also have fabric for two grandkids quilts on that board -- they want to help with the sewing. Guess that is why I rarely iron anything but fabric!

I have a few that are almost finished. I just need to finish organizing them. Then I will figure out where I was before we moved and they shouldn't be too much to finish up. Thank you for the encouragement!!
