What a difference a day makes

.......over Christmas and New Year my sewing stuff got put away and my sewing room got turned into a spare room for my daughter and her husband.....they live in the same village but both my girls and family love to come and spend Christmas with us and for that I am eternally gratefully.....but after they went back it became the junk room for a week....so today I set about sorting it out....It is such a small room that it has be kept tidy.........but I thought it might be a interesting thread to start..........What a difference a day makes......what would your room look like if you spent a day not sewing but tidying........I hasten to add at this point it only gets done like this once or twice a year and I can't wait to get back quilting.
First picture is yesterday.....the rest are this afternoon.

Love your cabinets, so white and clean. The bed coverings and pillows are so sweet. You did a good job straightening, now get to quilting girl.

Chasing Hawk 01-09-2013 10:07 AM

How did you get the furniture to stay on the ceiling?.........LOL j/k

Wonderful room.

vondae 01-09-2013 12:57 PM

OOPS! UPSIDE DOWN, but so fresh & clean looking. I'm sure it's a great place to create. Happy stitches.

Wonderful room.

I was wondering the same thing!. Great Room, I am assuming that it isn't upside down..otherwise quilting might be hard. =)

Country1 01-09-2013 06:27 PM

Looks great a screaming now lets get to work on the sewing machine. If you get bored or need a break, you can come and clean and straighten up mine ANYTIME!

letsquilt 01-10-2013 06:41 AM

Great room love your cabinet, what kind is it or was it special made for your space?

cpfrog 01-10-2013 12:13 PM

Great job! If my sewing room even looked like your FIRST one, I'd be happy!
Happy sewing this year.

cricket_iscute 01-10-2013 12:41 PM

I've always wanted to overcome gravity. How ever did you do it? ;-)

Your room looks nice.

McKayzie 01-10-2013 01:09 PM

What a great room! It gives off such a relaxing vibe. I could spend forever in a space like that.
The picture isn't upside for me... Maybe it's an iPad thing?

JanieH 01-10-2013 01:38 PM

Love your room and all the comments about the furniture. Reminds me of Mary Poppins with the furniture floating and also the Fred Astaire movie where he dances on the ceiling. I love your room!

nstitches4u 01-10-2013 03:02 PM

Your room looks great! Can I hire you to organize mine? lol

DJinSC 01-10-2013 05:54 PM

Wow, your room really was turned upside down! Honestly, it looks great.

justme CA 01-11-2013 11:54 AM

I'll bet lots of us do the same routine. I have an extra two bedrooms and both are used for the holidays by family. The quilting/sewing room gets a good clean up so the two beds can be pulled out only when guests are coming to stay overnight. However I can't quilt unless the room is neat anyway. My mother's voice on the tape in y head says do the house fist, even though she's been dead nearly 50 years.

Barbara Antman 01-11-2013 12:40 PM

If I spent a day cleaning up, it would probably look a lot nicer. But... I know from past experience, I would Never find anything!!! lol

mgmsrk 01-11-2013 01:58 PM

Wonderful space, even cluttered.

imnywoman 01-11-2013 05:45 PM

Very nice and organized.

Material Witness 01-11-2013 06:15 PM

You're right - they really turned things upsidedown!!!

nls 01-11-2013 08:09 PM

Very nice space for sewing!

LynnVT 01-11-2013 08:24 PM

Great space, nice storage. I was thinking that if you lived in Australia I'd expect things to be upside down, but UK is on the same level of the earth as US. LOL. I put everything away for Christmas too, and still haven't gotten anything out, as we have several church groups meeting here, and I need to keep things neat. I sew in the living room and sometimes the kitchen. Am getting really antsy to do some stitching!

This cracked me up.

Grandma58 01-16-2013 08:23 PM

DO you always live upside down? How interesting, I might have to try that. LMAO!

quiltingeileen 01-17-2013 09:56 AM

Way to go! Enjoy your neat space.

Little RoO 01-17-2013 11:25 PM

I think the upside down thing must be an iPad thing....it looks totally ok to me on my iPad....weird or what

Alexandra 01-20-2013 08:00 AM

Great space. Time to mess it up again :).

AuntieD 01-22-2013 04:21 PM

Great sewing room!! Glad your family joins you for Christmas.

wantanaquilt 01-24-2013 09:52 AM

Good Chasing Hawk I was wondering to how she put the pictures upside down. I thought my computer was hit with virus. lol!!

Little RoO 01-26-2013 10:21 PM

I wish I could see the upside down pictures that everyone thinks are so funny.....on my iPad they are normal....I have rotated the thing every which way but they still look normal......what a weird thing...am going to have to check on another computer

Nammie to 7 02-16-2013 06:37 PM

Isn't it nice when the sewing room is cleaned up and everything is put away. Unfortunately it only lasts a very short time. You have a nice space to work in.

trolleystation 02-16-2013 07:28 PM

Your room is certainly very 'topsy turvy'.
