I have track lighting with natural light bulbs....they are the spiral ones that do not generate too much heat.

I have one floor lamp OTT and two table lamps. The smaller ones are great for getting light where you REALLY need it. We have vaulted ceilings so... the ceiling light is wayyyyyyyyyyyy far away. I spaced out my OTT light purchases (bought 1 a month with coupons) from Joann's. I also have a small one I keep in my class kit.

I love the Ott lights, they are wonderful!

I have an Ott light by my FW sewing machine and a fan with a light in it as well.

But be careful, flourescent light I have heard that it is not good for your fabric so it will have to be stored out of sight of the lights.

My DH put in LED track lighting. No heat, almost no power usage, lots of light. I also have a swing arm LED desk light that covers the sewing and cutting area really well. It's the best he has done for me yet. As a radio-television engineer, his specialty was lighting. This is way better than my previous lighting (OTT).

I have shop lights on my ceiling (flouresent) in cool white. Then in the old ceiling light fixtures (you know the single bulb with a string hanging down) I replaced all those bulbs with an more expensive high efficient flood light. The light comes on dim at the start but puts out more light in a few minutes than I ever imagined. I have an ott light on my cutting table and then added a new bendable led light to my sewing machine, which was the best investment I have made in the recent year. They were cost prohibitive to me at first, but now I can honestly say, it was well worth it. No sewing machine should be without one.`

My Janome 7700 has a lot of lights on it, but I also added a bendable standing floor lamp. My overhead bulb is a flurorescent, so it takes a while warm up to bright.
