You could also put skinny wood dowels in each to store bobbins or spools on.

I don't remember where I saw that idea before, but I've been using it for awhile. I just happened to have a cute can that fit mine.

I've been using one as a pen & tool holder on my desk, it works great. One caution - before dropping your scissors into it, check how far the tips extend out the bottom. Small tipped pointy scissors might hit the table and damage either the tips or table. I simply taped cardboard on the bottom of my frog.

That's a good suggestion, Just Gail. My frog came inside a bowl, so it's all good. I am careful as I place different sewing tools in it, because it's all glass.

My concern with the way you have your scissors in there is the tips. We all know that scissors are not inexpensive.
