White, gray, pastel? Not bold for sure...paint color

Hopefully will be moving in the spring and I will have a sewing room all for me. DH jokingly says no bathroom, microwave or coffee pot allowed in there or he will never see me!

Just wondering what color for the walls? See lots of yellow in room but not a fan of that. Is it really personal preference? I know that some colors will off set colors of your fab....there goes the red! (just kidding was never an optioin.)

Well ... mine is yellow :) Not a bright yellow, but a softer "butter" yellow. But yes, it is a lot of personal choice coupled with good sense with regard to visibility. And you can always paint one wall a bold color - a wall that doesn't border a work area (ie sewing table or cutting table not pushed up against that wall).

When I was getting ready to paint mine I put samples of 4 on the wall. I spent a little time at different times of the day/night looking at them and finally decided on the one that I liked most of the time. It's amazing how colors change with the different lighting. My room is in the basement so that was a big consideration too.

I have boring white walls but most of my wall space is taken up with shelving. I'm looking for cabnets to take the place of some of the shelving. Maybe if I cover it with doors it won't look so messie. LOL Thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

Choose a color that makes you happy. I have a soft butter yellow, too, because when I walk into the room I just feel happy.

I have a really pale green and I just love it. It looks so nice with my white furniture and shelves. It does not seem to affect fabric when I am choosing it. Good luck.

I just got done painting mine yellow, just posted a couple of days ago, and like others have commented, yellow is just such a happy color. I was sort of afraid to try yellow, but am happy now that it is up. Color on walls is dependent of what directions you have windows and how many, are trees outside the windows, are you in a basement, and lastly, what makes you happy? As far as changing the fabric color, I always take the fabric into 2 or 3 rooms just to make sure they go together under different lighting. Just remember, it is your room, and it should make you happy.

I sew in a spare bedroom. I painted it a very light lime green. It does reflect some light, and besides I like the color!

One of the best wall colors i've ever chosen was "Vanillin" by Sherwin Williams. It is a toned down light yellow, and it will look subdued and lighter or darker on each wall depending on the light coming in. The soft greys are popular now too. Start out with a light grey and have the man in the store add your favorite color to it.) e.g. You could add a soft green and adjust the "tone" to go with everything .
