Wouln't this be great for organizing small things

I think you could store all those small bits and pieces in here and have them fingertip available...

I have one of these , got it at Lowe's for $19.95 works great

grannie 06-10-2012 06:41 AM

I have these with 60 drawers in it and this is where I keep my buttons, and safety pins. works really great.

Quilterfay 06-10-2012 10:40 AM

I have one that I use for sewing and one I use for my jewelry. They work great. My mom has had one for years for her sewing supplies.

You can find some great storage solutions at Home Depot, Lowes, or in the fishing aisle at Walmart. Many of the same styles of storage boxes that you'd find in a craft aisle are available in these places, often at much lower prices.

One year for Christmas my family gave me a big fishing tackle box to use for all my bits and pieces. Very handy! Originally it was intended for storing my embroidery floss for counted cross stitch (which I haven't done since bifocals became necessary).

Sewfine 06-10-2012 02:01 PM

That is a neat idea.

Sienna's GiGi 06-10-2012 05:32 PM

Very good idea. I have two huge tackle boxes from my father that also hold a lot of stuff too.

QuiltingJaguar 06-10-2012 05:45 PM

I have two of this type on my dresser, one full of earings and drawers of holiday jewlery and then on the other side of the dresser that one has necklaces in different colors in drawers.

OHSue 06-11-2012 03:35 AM

Oh that would never work for me, it would require me putting something away!

Lyncat 06-11-2012 03:35 AM

I used one of these for years to organize sewing stuff, then when DH built me a cabinet, I put all the little drawers
from it into a big shallow drawer to keep somewhat organized.

jaciqltznok 06-11-2012 06:05 AM

I have one smaller than this, with wider drawers for thread! they are great for bobbins, specialty threads, etc.

JeannieT 06-11-2012 08:43 AM

I agree - these are great for holding small stuff ....I keep my sewing machine tools, rotary blades, extra bobbins, fancy or novelty buttons, machine needles etc etc in it. Love it!

cinson7 06-11-2012 10:21 AM

I agree I have 6 of them I use to put my embroidory thread in them each color has a drawer

wvdek 06-11-2012 04:49 PM

ROFLOL. Thanks for the laugh, I needed it.

Scakes 06-11-2012 09:44 PM

I've used smaller ones but really like the number of drawers on this one. Never thought about using them for jewelry though but it sounds like a good idea.

Noiseynana 06-12-2012 03:35 AM

I found one at a yard sale and another in a swap group. The one at the yard sale was like $1.00

I had two of those for special lego parts when DS were young. Now where are those units?

Mona Marie 06-12-2012 06:01 AM

I need to look for one of these. I have 8 different boxes with my things in.

Pam S 06-12-2012 06:49 AM

DH gave me one of the 60 drawer units from Lowes for my birthday a few years ago. One of his best ideas yet. It sits right beside my sewing machine filled with buttons, snaps, elastic, machine feet, all sorts of things. Keep thinking someday I might even label the drawers so it's even easier to find stuff.

Caswews 06-12-2012 06:33 PM

I have one of those and love it for the small tools needed every once in a while !

Country1 06-13-2012 04:56 AM

they also have them at Harbor Freight, don't know the price though. Sorry.

fktsewing 06-15-2012 09:19 PM

They are---I have one large one like your picture shows with all my buttons in it---each drawer is a different color and my dymo label tells what they are. I have another one with jewelry supplies in it---separated by chains, clasps, color etc.
Well worth the money and by the way, buy them at Wal Mart or one of the large Hardware stores. Cheaper than JoAnnns

RUSewing 06-16-2012 11:27 AM

What a neat organizer for buttons! thx for the idea

mighty 06-16-2012 12:40 PM

I also have one of these, works great!!!!

deedum 06-19-2012 03:51 AM

Thanks, my dh bought me one yesterday and I think it is going to be great! Just what I was needed for all those little items!

fleurdelisquilts.com 06-20-2012 09:30 AM

I have two and love 'em. I actually labelled mine! I have them under my work/cutting table and store odd things.....small elastic, velcro, little tools, extra pins, specialty items and so on. It works great.
