Great idea and I love the look, but I believe I read somewhere that quilts should not touch bare wood. Might pay to check it out. It would be a shame to damage all those lovely quilts.

That's what the plastic sheet is for. I tacked it in place to protect the fabric on the quilts. If I see that it doesn't work like I think it should, I'll add muslin on top of the plastic.

Very unique way to display and store quilts at the same time.

The fabrics are in contact with all the sides of the boxes, not just the bottom that is protected.

Love your display! My DH and I love to re-purpose things to. I'm sure some things and ways we have decorated has made some of our friends go "What", but on the other hand we also get alot of "I never would have thought of that. Same goes for our yard.
Well, I really like your display and I also have several jars and old glass containers around with old sewing stuff. But my absolute favorite is my jars of old wooden spools and my BUTTONS!...
You done great in my eyes. Just remember it's yours and do what you want to it.

Great idea. You may want to line the entire box that has quilts stored. An article I read the other day said wood could leach into fabric causing stains.

What beautiful patina on your boxes! Your idea to display the boxes and quilts is, well, thinking out of the box! (Sorry, I do love a good pun.)
