Re-organizing and fixing up my sewing room
#26
I do have a suggestion. The shelves that you have the... or what looks like a TV and DVD player on, well, put a shelf up and hang them on the wall, take the ironing board top off it's legs and mount it on top of the shelves. That will free up about 5 foot of floor space for ya. You also have lots of storage space under your tables, don't forget about that!! I love the way you have the sewing machines set up and it's a real good space, I only have room for my Juki and Grace frame in my sewing room so I took over the dinning room for piecing!!! We don't use it anyway!!! Hahahha

As a concession to the possibility of a future sale AND in the spirit of more room (we ALL need more room!), why not put either a single door or double doors leading into the room next door? That way you still have two rooms. Most folks would like that because it's good if you have a single child (room next door is the play room), or 2 children, or someone who is like us and has a hobby they have a passion for. You could put your long arm into the next room, and put bookshelves wall to wall on one wall for tons of storage in the other room. Keep the closets though, or the room won't count as a bedroom when selling.

I have to agree with the idea of a door between the two rooms. I have always had my sewing room in a bedroom that was converted from a porch. There is a door between it and the master bedroom and a second door that leads to the dinning room. We just finished remodeling the sewing room and had trouble fitting the long arm in the same space as everything else until my DH mentioned placing it in front of the doorway to the dinning room. Now I don't need as much space behind the frame because I can just open the door from the dinning room and walk behind the frame. I use the door from the master bedroom to access the sewing room. I now have my dinning room back to use for eating rather than for quilting and I am LOVING it! There is always more than one way to skin a rabbit !!!
