Oh dear I would be happy if mine looked like the before picture. I started to clean mine when I saw a yard sale with quilting supplies and had to check it out. I only bought a few things but then one of my favorites had their sale and bought some new to me magazines and found some good articles so I have to try them out THEN I will clean up my studio. I almost forgot my nephew took me to breakfast at Steak and Shake 3 weeks ago. As we were sitting there I noticeda man was taking down the lights over the booths and replacing them. I asked the waitress what they were going to do with them. She said they would probably use them in another restaurant, the light man said they weren't going to use them did I want them. Of course, then he asked me did I know how to wire them. I said no but I would find out so he told me how to wire them. How cool was he

Lucky you! Neece.

As I was reading this offering for today, I was also thinking, Mine "now" should look as good as her "before"--I might make myself go out there and get some sewing done instead of sitting here reading. Oh well.

This has been a good day for me though. I finished my BOM block, so I can get my May block for free when we go to town in a couple of days; did some ironing and then went out to check to see what DH was doing. Mowing, weed-eating, etc., so I said "let's do me a flowerbed" and got the look from him. So I went and got the stuff and he did help me get started with a bed that I could put some irises in. Too much work in the hot sun for me. I got that done and watered the bed and quit. Came in and fixed hot dogs for lunch and went and took a nap. Can you tell I don't have a lot of "git up and go".....

Now I am looking for a book to finish out my day, into evening. I am done for for today.

Thank you, ladies, for all your nice comments on my sewing room makeover, particularly about the before photo. I hope that sharing what worked for me in my sewing space will serve as a springboard for ideas to others.

But about that before photo...you see, I am cursed (or blessed, depending on what I'm doing) with a bit of an OCD nature, so when I dive into a project like that, my tendencies can lean toward excessive. This personality trait served me well in my job, and now, thankfully, quilting allows me to burn off a lot of it so it doesn't interfere so much in the rest of my life.

I greatly appreciate your kind, encouraging words. It has been fun (and a boost to my computer skills!) contributing to this forum.

Terri D., I clicked on the link to your sewing room tour....love your room. Also, love your idea of the covered wire shelves. Where did you get the snaps that you attached to the fabric and the shelf? How are they attached to the shelf?

Boy, it didn't look too bad in the before picture. Don't you just love those fabric boxes? I think they are so cool & really brighten up a room. Your room looks great.

The before looked fine to me but the after is really great. Love the colorful baskets.
