I do cover my thread. It is covered with clear vinyl sheeting to keep it from getting dusty. Each rack has its own seperate cover and I just lift it up to grab what I need.

Nice space. The fold out ironing board is a great idea.

I should have mentioned the lighting in my sewing room. Whatever the DH did with the lighting means that I no longer use the gooseneck light that came with my quilting machine. The lighting is fabulous. If anyone is working on lighting and wants suggestions, I can post information on what he did. He tried several things before we got what I now have. I have no shadows and can see everything better than I ever did before!

I agree with everyone. It's a great room, and is a functional example of what can be done in a relatively small space. Good job. It's giving me the emotional push to finish setting mine up. Thanks.

I'm not sure I will ever be totally finished setting mine up - always a work in progress. BTW the pictures don't show how big the room actually is. It is 12X17' - There is a queen size bed in there AND I have my quilting frame set up with plenty of room for my cutting table. I don't like having the guest bed in there, but until I can talk one of the kids into moving out, I'm stuck with it.

He used 120 watt equivalent CFL (23 watt) daylight. There are 9 floodlights. I also have lighting under the cabinets that I rarely use because the other lighting seems to do the trick. He tried several different things before coming up with the solution.
