Default My sewing space before and after

For years my guest room has served double duty as my sewing space. It's only a 10x10 room which is really small compared to some of the spaces I've seen on this and other sites but it's all I've got and my Momma always said make the most out of what you've got, so that's what I did.

I was using a Big Board as my cutting table and also my pressing board.

And I was making queen size quilts on a tiny table barely big enough to hold my machine.

So I did some research and watched a few youtube DIY videos and came up with a better plan. When I had it all drawn out (stick man style) I showed my dh and he got right on it. This is how my cutting table looks today. I still have my big board for pressing large pieces of material but I use the little board hanging on the left side of the pegboard for pressing seams.

And this is my new sewing table. Oh and my stash use to be stuck in closets and drawers and any place else I could find to stuff a yard of fabric. But now it lives in the two cabinets on either side of the sewing table.

And when the grandchildren come to spend the night it turns back into a guest room. The daybed with a trundle bed underneath sleeps 2 to 4 depending on their sizes.

And the sewing table folds up to make room for the trundle bed.

I love my sewing space and I've made several quilts since the transformation.

I love what you have done with your room. Mine has a Murphy bed that folds into the wall, which is very nice but I love the functioning wall units you have.

You and your husband have a wonderful talent. By working together, you have come up with ingenious solutions. Your sewing room is fabulous. I don't know how you actually did before. But kudos to you for making it work. Enjoy your new space!!
