3M Command Strips!!!! LOVE 'am. I use them to hang lots of things - rulers, thread racks, and a piece of styrofoam to use as a small design wall. I also hang stencils and other tools that hang on the styrofoam with pins holding them in place. Just put the command strips on the wall at the proper height and push the styrofoam onto them so the hooks imbed themselves into the foam. Welcome to the Board!!!! Just remember - you need to sew, not just read the Board!

I have not bought this yet because I am praying I get this for Christmas! haha, I want to put all of my scrap fabric in it, and it has rollers so you can move it anywhere easily!

Another trick is to put risers under your bed. They lift it up 6-8 inches and you'd be surprised at how much stuff you can get under there.

Try to make everything do double duty. Instead of a bedside table make it a bedside chest you can store things inside of, use a flat-lidded trunk as a coffee table, use the back of every door a place to hang things. add all the other good ideas you got here and you should do well.

Jes, one word: IKEA!!! check out Billy Bookcases and Expedit shelving system. My quilting area is miniscule, but I was able to find a place for everything by utilizing both Billy and Expedit. Fortunately, I found my pieces on Craigslist and didn't have to pay full retail price. Organization is the key to small space living. You have to think 'double duty' for everything you let into your space. Have fun with it!

I just happened to goto IKEA today and it is just amazing how they have the showrooms set up. They fit soooo much into little rooms. I love their room dividers which could just be put against the walls.

I have been the bin route and I would rather invest in something like Ikea shelving or something similar. Once something went in a bin I never saw it again and years later when opening bins that had been stored on the bottom of them all were quite a few surprises I had forgotten about.

IMHO, I really think keeping the things you use all the time out where you can see them and get tothem easily is very important to the creative worker. I don't want to search for stuff I need when I want it.

Understanding that space is limited cosider that a stack of shelves takes up just as much space if not less than a stack of ugly bins in your shared space. You can make shelves look nice, bins not so much, and keep them easy to use.

Hope you figure out your needs and go with what you require first.
