Kansas City Regional Quilt Fest June 2019
for those of you that may be in the Midwest--or at least in mid June, the KCRQF is an every 2 yrs event that is sponsored by 18(has grown from 15) regional quilt guilds--the guilds do all the planning and work. About the only thing hired out is the handling of the hanging frames. The dates are June 13-15, 2019.
The recent announcement on the website is that tickets for groups that may be coming as a bus trip have recently gone on sale--including a welcome person, etc for when your bus group arrives.
Expected are about 35 vendors; in 2017 we(my guild actually did this)hung over 700 quilts--both the sponsoring guild displays and also juried quilts, a special display, demo's and tons of classes. Classes opens to the public this coming week. A great variety of trunk shows, domestic machine projects, long arm classes, technique, etc--3 1/2 days of classes.
And Ricky Tims will be here for 2 special concerts/shows about his journey with quilting--plus he has a series of classes too!
On Wed evening, there is a preview--tickets to this allow you to come in early, bid on mini quilts (proceeds to go to two sewing related non-profits in the KC area) and enjoy some appetizers and a cash bar. Tickets for this are $40
This is just a great quilt show, located in the Overland Park KS Convention Center (suburb of KC) with lots of hotels close by--and keep in mind that besides Mo. Star Quilt Co. in Hamilton MO is only about 90 minutes up the road, the KC area has LOTS of quilt shops in the area too. Hope to see you there--
check the website for kcrqf.com and if you have other questions send me a PM and I'll get an answer for you.

or if you do attend and just need a place to "perch" for a bit, stop by our booth!

Too funny! I'll be there from Wed morning (set uP) until it closes Sat. night--at the Miami Co. Quilters Guild vendor booth or in a class--so if you attend and need someone to take you to deliver at a nearby hospital (there are 3 within minutes)--have me paged! Nancy HK!

Quiltingshorttimer - Thank you for posting this.. I was just wondering when this was going to take place and I was way off; I was thinking April. I rarely log in to QB, but I read it everyday. I plan to go again.
NZquilter - Maybe all the walking at the show will bring on labor after you get home.

NZ--yes, there will be long arm booths--I'm expecting Nolting, Gammill, APQS, Bernina, Innova--and of course all the domestics too. Check out the website www.kcrqf.com for a list of vendors.
I had to giggle at your last post--as a teacher, we had a "rule" for our pregnant co-workers--keep a glass of water to "accidently" knock over on yourself (think a wter bottle would work??) and a sweater to tie around your waist to cover the "water"--all in case your water breaks in public!
