I am thinking of driving up to the Road to CA show next January. I have never been to this show so I am wondering if I should book a hotel room for the entire event..Jan. 20-23.

Is it worth a 4 day stay? I might take a class or two. Too expensive to take too many. Will there be enough to do if I am there for the entire 4 days. I don't want to spend the $$$ for a room for 4 days if it is likely I would see everything I want to see in 2 days.

I know some of you have been at this event, so I am hoping you will share your experience with me before I finalize my plans. Registration opens on July 7. Thank you. :-D

I went last year and booked 2 nights at the Ayers Hotel, it is really nice and reasonable and their parking lot is connected to the Convention center it was great, when we got tired less than 5 min walk to the room through the parking lot. They also had breakfast every morning. But for us two days was plenty, but depends on how many classes you take.

I have been going every year for the last 6 years (except for this year because of surgery)
I have never taken classes but you can see everything in 2 days. We usually get there about opening on Friday, stay nearby that night and then spend all day Saturday. For us it is about a 2 hour drive so we eat dinner before hitting the road home Saturday evening.
If you want to take a couple of classes you could probably fill up 3 days, not sure if there is enough for 4 unless you want to take a lot of classes.
When it gets close, we ought to set up a meeting day and time for board members attending.

Thank you. I think I need to figure out what classes I would be interested in and go from there. Based on what you are telling me, probably 2 nights at the hotel would be enough. This is very helpful to me because I dont want to spend $$$ for the hotel for 4 nights, just to be ready to go home on day 3.

As it gets closer we should find out who all is going. It would be great to meet everyone. The registration starts July 7th, so I will probably sign up right away, especially if I want to take a class or two.

Thanks again for the advice. :D

I would love to be able to take some classes but I work and it is difficult for me to get the time off. I only work part time so I usually have my Mondays and Fridays off, that's why we always go on Friday and Saturday.

It would be fun to meet up.

Hi
I've been going for about 10 years. I usually go on Friday, but cannot see everything in 1 day. I've taken classes there also and they lasted all day. I would say take 2 days for looking and the rest for classes. The classes fill up VERY quickly so don't wait. It is very large with a lot of vendors worth visiting. It is a wonderful show. If you stay in a hotel, you won't have to fight for close parking. Your feet will be killing you by 3 pm. It is all worth it!!
