Unhappy A Quilters Gathering Show (New Hampshire) Ceases Operation

I am so, so sad . A Quilters Gathering, one of THE premier quilt shows in New Hampshire/northern Massachusetts has been halted according to their founders. This is due to lack of an appropriate venue. In the past 27 years of operation, they have had 3 or 4 different venues and have outgrown all of them. Such is the case now.

The Gathering was one of the best shows around, with a juried show (over 100 quilts usually...if not loads more), special exhibits by various quilt artists, dozens of classes and too many vendors to count.

They will be missed by so many of us! I only hope that the founders can find an appropriate space for the 2017 show...

I don't blame you for being sad. With the few big shows near where I live, it is so expensive when you add up the gas, admission fee, parking fee and lunch. I could buy more fabric with those funds.

I think Road2CA is the only really big one left in SoCal. I know the Camarillo Quilters Assoc. is having their bi-annual Show on April 22 & 23, 2016. It's usually pretty good. Nothing like Road of course. Last year a friend & I went to the San Diego show and it was fun. again, not large though.

Oh bummer!

I go to the Pacific International Quilt Show in Santa Clara every year, I would be really sad if that one ended.
