Oregon Summer Quilt Expo - Redmond Oregon
#1

Hi folks.. I haven't been on here in a long while because of dealing with my mother's health, etc. BUT, I wanted to tell you about the Oregon Summer Quilt Expo in Redmond, Oregon that is this weekend. We went today --- 70 venders. It was a LOT of fun, many interesting items I haven't seen before, and yes, I spent too much money. They will be having a shuttle that runs every 20 minutes between the expo and the Sister's Quilt Show......and the buses have a pass into areas that makes their entering and leaving Sisters a LOT easier than driving your own car. If you're in the area and haven't heard about it, here's the link http://www.oregonsummerquiltexpo.com/.........
and no, I'm in no way affiliated with the expo.

Good to see you! I remember that you were so helpful to me when I was trying to choose a long arm. I hope your mother is well. I live on the east coast but someday would love to visit Oregon and Washington. Maybe I'll be able to coordinate a visit with the quilt shows. I've heard the Sister's one is really nice.

Thanks for the info. on this expo. I had never heard of it before but have visited the Sisters quilt show numerous times. I will keep the Redmond event in mind for next year! We will be retiring to Redmond in the future! Love Central Oregon

Ok, looking for more information. Where would you all recommend to stay, that is close to the Sisters show (for next year, 2014)? I've never been &would like to go. Or, would you recommend a bus tour? Many thanks.

The Expo in Redmond is NEW. This is their first year! They did great, however, we suggested FOOD carts (it's all about the food, you know) and seating! They have a shuttle that gets priority lanes into the show. I'd recommend any hotel/motels in Redmond and go to this expo on Thursday and Friday and then go park at the fairgrounds and catch their shuttle to the Sisters show on Saturday. We're hoping they have the expo again.....they did an awesome job for the first year! (yeah, i spent way too much money there!)
As for bus tours. I've never been on one, so can't really say. I'm not much for having someone tell me when and where I can go. It's not that hard getting around from Redmond to Sisters.......Bend, well, that's another story. I had to use a GPS system to get around Bend the first 2 yrs here.

We went today to the Expo. I had a blast and my husband had fun too. He seen a quilt pattern he liked so I bought it.
That was the easy part, the hard part is deciding which fabrics to use...lol
I did find one snotty company though....haha The Gammil booth, were all smiles and sunshine until I told them I owned a Bailey. But all in all is was a lot of fun. I spent about 50 dollars and my husband bought a couple of things for me as well.
If they have it again next year I am going again.
