So......who else is going?

Melody 04-03-2011 06:16 PM

Oh, I do want to go!! I will see if I can round up some other local quilters. I love Cinci and it should be a fun trip. Saturday sounds good to me! :-D :-D

Omigosh, this is downtown??! I usually stay to the outside of Cinci or fly through on I-75. Oh, well, I have my handy dandy GPS.... even though she and I do not get along very well. :hunf:

lovingmama 04-04-2011 06:12 AM

I'm going, but it looks like on sunday.

Pam S 04-04-2011 07:07 AM

I'll be there on Saturday too. Hope to see you.

seamstome 04-04-2011 07:15 AM

I will be there Friday and Saturday. Im not organized enough to know what Im wearing yet or to have something cool picked out.

Melody 04-04-2011 07:26 AM

Okay, this is my first big quilt show. It's a long drive from Toledo... is it a better idea to get a hotel room than to drive it in one day? And will the hotels very likely be filled up?

I am getting very excited. I might drag DH along if I get a room so he can stay there and relax, doing nothing but read, which would be good for him. I sure don't want to take him to the quilt show! Not that I haven't been to plenty of farm shows

Melody :-D

baglady65 04-04-2011 09:35 AM

I will be there Thurs and Friday coming down on a bus from Trenton, Mi

baglady65 04-04-2011 09:37 AM

Me, too - I will be there Thursday night and Friday. Should we wear something special or pin a color on or something?

I'm driving with a friend who lives in Lexington, KY. We are going to price-line a room on Wednesday and see what we can find maybe in KY.

Ginaky 04-04-2011 09:48 AM

I will be there Friday.

kimscruzer 04-04-2011 09:55 AM

I will be going. I am not sure what day. I live so close I could go all three days! This is my first show to attend. Any advice on how to get the most out of the experience ?

hcarpanini 04-04-2011 09:56 AM

I will be working in the Handi Quilter booth. Come by and say hi!

Raggiemom 04-04-2011 10:04 AM

I'm going Saturday on a bus trip. I think the bus is supposed to get there about 10 am. How are we to find each other there? Would love to meet up with some of you if possible.

what if we wore some color of ribbon pinned to our shirt?

BluegrassGurl 04-04-2011 10:41 AM

Thank you for posting!!! It just so happens that I am going to be in Cinci Thursday and Friday on a busness trip. Looks like I may be able to squeeze in a visit to the quilt show on Thursday night.

Yippee!!!!

Raggiemom 04-04-2011 10:42 AM

Is there a specific booth we could meet at some specified time? I've never been to a show before so have no idea what to expect or even what's there.

Notimetoquilt 04-04-2011 11:59 AM

Hi everyone

Let me jump in. I am going with a busload of ladies from Ottawa, Ontario. I was at the show last year in Chicago and there is no way you will find each other unless you decide exactly where and at what time.

I suggest that you meet at the canteen if there is one at noon. That way we can all have lunch together. And decide on the day also.

Our bus is leaving here tomorrow morning, Tuesday and we are staying 2 nights in Lancaster, PA. Then we drive to Cincinnati to be at the hotel on Thursday afternoon. We stay there till Monday morning.

I'll try to find a computer at the hotel to see if I can find out where your get-together is.

Paulette from Ottawa.

I'm going Saturday with a car load of friends. I'll have to stick with them so I don't get lost and lose my ride home!! Will be wondering if everyone I see is one of you talented ladies on this wonderful board.

It been my expereince that preview night is the best time, very light on crowds . Vendor booths are open and no waiting to pay. Only one problem not enough time to get to see all that is there if you only go to preview night.

Melody 04-04-2011 03:47 PM

Since this is the first quilt show I've been to, and it's a big one... do you need to purchase admission tickets ahead of time? Or at the door is okay?

baglady65 04-04-2011 03:47 PM

Well decide so we all can do that! LOL

baglady65 04-04-2011 03:48 PM

Melody you can buy at the door think the tickets are $8 a day

Melody 04-04-2011 03:55 PM

great. Thanks!

If you buy the preview night ticket (thursday night) for $10 it is also good for one day's admission. We usually go to preview night and the next day.

Notimetoquilt 04-04-2011 05:08 PM

No. I think you have to pay for another day.

I think they have weekend passes. You can check out the prices.

I just looked on the website - if you buy a $10 ticket for the preview night, it includes one additional day. Pretty good deal.

Notimetoquilt 04-04-2011 05:29 PM

That's great. I didn't realize that.

DONK 04-04-2011 09:15 PM

I'll be there saturday with my mom and sister who we are dragging with us. This is only because i don't drive and she is our ride. I'll have to stick with them.

craftybear 04-05-2011 05:19 PM

if you are going, pin a piece of fabric to your top, mine will have bears on along with a bear pin, and yes I will be carrying a bear bag.

I hope I get to see others from the show. My quilt guild is taking a bus from central Indiana and we should be arriving about 9:30 am to 10 am. and our bus will leave at 3:45 pm. so if you see me be sure to say hello.

I would purchase ahead as the lines for tickets in the AM can be a bit long. Alot of LQS in the area will have them , but call to make sure yours still has a few.

trupeach1 04-05-2011 05:43 PM

If anyone wants info on the area PM me I will give you my phone #, I live just east of Cincinnati.

Melody 04-05-2011 05:47 PM

Hi, Craftybear, hope to see you there. I will be carrying a black tote with musical notes all over it and I'll be wearing a name tag that says.... QB Melody

I'm going on Saturday. Just live 45 minutes away. Hopefully parking won't be too hard to find.

If anyone is interested in meeting up with me at the Quilt Show Saturday, PM me and I'll send you my cell phone number. Then once we're at the show you could call or text me and we could agree on a place to meet.

DONK 04-08-2011 05:58 PM

I will be there tomorrow and am wearing a fabric square with yellow smiley faces.

Qbee 04-08-2011 06:01 PM

There is a place towards the "front" that is a "PHOTO OP" place. I was wondering if we could all at least try to meet there at like 12:30 for a group photo??

DONK 04-08-2011 06:03 PM

Sounds good to me.

quiltinghere 04-09-2011 03:14 AM

Ok - someone's working at the Handi Quilter - Someone's carrying a musical bag with a name tag - Someone's wearing a piece of fabric - GOT IT!!!

On Saturday and Sunday, I'll be carrying a medium blue and light blue backpack/purse with a YELLOW strip of fabric tied to it. :)

The Hunt for each other will be fun!

DID ANYONE GO YET THAT CAN POST SOME HELPFUL HINTS or MUST SEEs?
