This show from The Quilt Show is fascinating!

I remember these two quilters from when I first started quilting. Most of what I remember of Roberta was using a lot of plaids and dark fabrics. Mary used more bright colors.

We must be showing our age LOL. Roberta died on Feb 4. Nobody seems to know who she is.

Same with Georgia Bonesteel, Shar Jorgenson, Billie Lauder, Judy Martin, Debbie Mumm, all still alive I believe. Very few new quilters know of their methods. I have to hand it to Eleanor Burns, the Queen of Quilting, she has kept current and smiled her way to quilting fame.

I think some of these quilters are still active but more so locally than on TV. I used to really enjoy watching Billie Lauder, and she is one quilter who I tried to search out a few years back, but couldn't find her technique, but did read she was deceased.

I found this posted: Billy Lauter passed away August 2, 2018 in Eugene Oregon.

She has a lot of youtube videos.

Onebyone- you mentioned Georgia Bonesteel- she was my idol when I started quilting along with Jinny Beyer. I love Jinny's fabrics. Not so much her methods though.
Also loved Mary Ellen Hopkins- she died a couple of years ago.
This isn't nice but Eleanor Burns gets on my nerves. Can't watch her lol
Gwen Marston died too. I took a class from her at Paducah.

I saw this tribute and it was really wonderful. I wasn't familiar with either of those ladies and really don't do the type of quilts they did but still such an inspiration. fun to see how they each had their own sewing rooms in their home.

Same here but it was a great show. Glad you liked it. Must be awful when one twin dies and leaves the other. My Aunts were twins and one died about 10 years ago. The other is still living.
