Calgary Shops?

I'll be in Calgary AB Oct 15/16 and I'm wondering which (of the many!) shops I should visit?

Any QB'ers in that area?

If you have a car, and want to go for a drive, there is a delightful quilt shop in Beiseker. Never Done Quilting https://www.neverdonequilting.ca/

I was visiting family in the area this June and was really happy with the selection of fabrics and the incredible customer service.

I did not go into Calgary this trip, so no help with in the city.

Canmore has a great quilt shop too. Sugar Pine Quilts http://www.thesugarpine.com/ I was there over Christmas 2017 and loved the fabrics and customer service.

I live just east of Beiseker, and I can second Never Done Quilting. Kim who owns the store is a fabulous person (we aren't related, so I'm unbiased :)) and the ladies working for her are awesome also. In the city of Calgary, if you're interested in batiks, Along Came Quilting has a great selection. Also My Sewing Room has a good selection of fabric as well, although they seem to be reorganizing the store to start carrying fabrics for garments so they've lost some of the floor space to that. Both of those stores are within a couple of KMs of each other so an easy trip to both. In between them, there is a store called A Sewing Sensation (the south store) and they have a great fabric selection also. If you are travelling west of the city at all, there is a quilt store in Cochrane called Addies Fabrics that is closing at the end of October so she has all of her fabrics and yarns on a great sale. Feel free to ask me any questions about the area. :)

Tothill...my daughter lives in Canmore and we will be spending three days there and you;re right...that is a great store.

Yes, I will have a car so may make the trek out to Beiseker. My husband is working so I'll be on my own for two days. What else is there to do?

I used to visit Calgary regularly, and I agree with the shops mentioned by previous posters! Loved them all!

Well, I didn't get to Beiseker, unfortunately, but I did get to Along Came Quilting, which was a wonderful shop...I went twice. They were so helpful and had an amazing assortment of fabrics. I also went to My Sewing Room, which had some bag making supplies and Out of Hand, which was truly out of hand...I've never seen so much fabric piled everywhere! I did find exactly the right focus fabric that I've been searching for under a rather teetering pile of bolts, so that was a good thing.

All in all, I had a very good day quilt store hopping in Calgary.

I'm glad you enjoyed your shopping experience. I just bought a number of batiks from Along Came Quilting for the Turtle quilt I'm currently working on. I also had a great experience with a saleslady who listened to what I liked, and didn't care for, and ran around the store bringing me beautiful bolts of fabric to consider. So much fun.
I didn't mention Out of Hand when you asked because I took a class there and just couldn't imagine recommending them to someone I don't know, because of the chaos. My mom and I were laughing that we'd never seen "shelves" for fabric that were bolts of fabric. :)
