Hello Everyone,
I got a cool birthday present recently, a class with Marilyn Belford through Quilt University. Realistic Fabric Portraits. Best by far class I ever was involved in on-line or in the actual physical class. Marilyn has been so caring and helpful for all of the class members. We have her private email address and can ask multiple questions and get assistance with our drawings and other work (we are at the add the fabric stage) any time we need that. The class is 5 weeks and while I am behind, I am not worried I'll catch up this weekend.
If anyone is looking for an inexpensive gift for someone that quilts check out quilt university and Marilyn's class. I am thinking about signing up again so I can do another Portrait quilt.

So wonderful to have access to an awarding winning teacher, one who loves her students and the arts.

PS this drawing is the poster that I made from a free site posterizer or blockposters.

I have taken classes at QU with her before. She is very smart. She wrote an early book that is out of print. Very detailed-too much for me to understand!
I must have taken 30 classes from QU over the years and still doing it!

Hi,
Still on the project but there is so much help in this class. If I get stuck there is always someone (especially Marilyn ) that gets me unstuck. With every good thing there is a process. I like this process because it stretches the mind, the colors, the shapes and the challenge that goes along with each step.

I hope everyone takes this class because you will learn that yes scissors are sharp, blue tape, glue, thread, needles, computer programs, tracing, meeting new people, getting to talk with Marilyn is awesome(can you image an award winning Coach for this class?), laughing at yourself, getting to know the portrait person really well, the power to erase wrinkles and so much more.

So reconsider a project that you are not always at the sewing machine, next learning project is thread painting. Exciting.

I promise to post "Chris" when finished.

I also took her class! Loved it. Just finished my quilt. I've always wanted to do this.
