Went to a quilt show in Coshocton Oh today and it is also on Sat and Sun. Aug. 8th & 9th. Sat and Sun also includes the towns Canal Days Festival. They had a lot of Antique quilts on display draped over the pews in the sactuary, (family quilts some from the 1800s). Over 200 quilts on display, including a section of "Honor" quilts made for local vetrans,
Here's the guild's link with all the information

And some pics. I couldn't get back far enough to get the whole quilts on most and my battery light started to blink so I didn't get many but this is a few examples.

Hope there are some board members near Eastern Ohio that will be able to go to this show.

Beautiful quilts Starshine! I won't be able to make the show (live out of state) but my daughter lives in Zanesville and when I go there I am always looking for quilt related shops, venues. There seems to be one quilt store in her town but can you recommend any others in that area to visit the next time I go? Any ideas would be appreciated!

Try the Nelsonville Quilt Company in Nelsonville. Not too far from Zanesville. It's a large shop and there is a great selection of fabrics. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful but don't hover. A couple of good restaurants are close.

Coshocton Ohio, about 35 miles from Zanesville has quilt show on main street across from the town square, MERCANTILE ON MAIN. Fabric, yarns, etc. Great shop!

Thank you Mary!

I meant to add beautiful quilts and a beautiful church too!

Hi Pam, I am not in the Coschocton area but have stopped in the Nelsonville Quilt Company a couple of times on the way to Athens to see Quilt National. I really like this shop it is a wonderful shop and the owner and others there are wonderful. Read about the quilt show in the Columbus Dispatch article about Canal Days. But if you create a thread on here or maybe in the Chit Chat thread asking for recommendations for shops near Zanesville other than the ones already mentioned you may find others too. some might be stops on the way to your daughters if you are driving. Hope you get to visit soon. :)

I will try to visit that one Starshine. Thanks so much for responding. I am coming from Atlanta so will have to figure the route. I am actually coming up that way in a couple of weeks. I think we may be heading to Berlin, Ohio to visit an Amish village too. Should be fun!

If you go... I haven't been to Amish country yet but had a neighbor who went a few times a year and she told me-tourist go to Berlin, the locals go to Millersburg which is about 6 miles west of Berlin, so maybe you can visit both and compare. Definitely need to check this off my bucket list by getting up there.

Thanks for that tip! I will share with my family and see if they know about it already.
