I live in NC and there is a wonderful fabric store locally. It is Called MaryJo's and she has just about anything you could want. If you are in the area stop in you will be glad you did.

I live in Florida and go to Mary Jo's twice a year. Its a 10 hr ride for me but well worth it. I'm due to go in Oct and I'm making my list. The other place to go is Long Creek Mills for thread, stabilizer and needles. I believe its exit 14 off of I-85, not far from Mary Jo's. Remember they dont have grocery carts at Mary Jo's to tote your fabric so bring hubby with you when you go. denise

Take your reusable tote bags with you! I have a couple from JCPenney that are larger than most. Also, from LLBean and Target that are a good size. From what I hear form some of you, you may need two or three! LOL

p.s. - some of us don't have DH; we make do.

Love MaryJo's worth the trip. Even bus loads are brought in to shop!!!!!!

I had the privilege of stopping there a few years ago and thought I'd never get there again. This spring on the way home from FL we were coming right by there and DH said lets stop. He was blown away by all they had. Go if you ever have the chance.

Oh yeah, this is the place to go. My quilt group does a road trip usually a couple of times a year. It's about a 1 3/4 hour trip for us. The first time I went, I almost hyperventilated! You definitely have to have a list the first time or you will run around wanting to buy everything. The fabrics are not as inexpensive as they were 5 or so years ago but still much cheaper than your LQS and there is a huge variety. Go if you ever get the chance.

Drat--I just got home last night from NC and did not have internet access up there--we were tent camping in a national park.
