Festival of Quilts in England

Has anyone been (or is anyone going) to the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, England? I have heard nothing but great things about it for years. This year, I am biting the bullet and going on a quilt cruise which goes all around the British Isles, then the group goes to the Festival of Quilts. I have never been to England, let alone get to see places in Ireland and Scotland too.

If someone has been to the quilt show, please let me know other things to do in the area, ease of walking the show, special vendors, etc.

Thanks so much!

It is a wonderful quilt show! You will enjoy it and all the vendors. There is plenty to do in the Birmingham area and great public transportation to get where you want to go!

Thanks corkygal.... It just dawned on me that others may want to join the cruise and go too...see http://worldofquiltstravel.com/BritishIsles.htm if interested.

Hi djquilts,
Yes I am going and have been for the last 3 or 4 years. I really wouldn't miss it, and this year I am going with 3 friends and am staying a couple of nights in a hotel, so that we can go in twice. There is so much to see and cannot do it in one day. Do let me know exactly where you are stopping in the UK and maybe I can let you know of "must see" things to do !!

Sounds like a whole lot of fun!!! Make sure to visit the new Titanic centre in Belfast.
