International quilt festival in Tokyo

Has anyone ever been before? McCalls is sponsoring a trip there, sounds fun http://www.craftours.com/trips/?page=japan_mccalls_0116

No, never been to Japan. Sounds interesting. Japan quilts are some of the most intricate quilts I have ever seen.

I have been several times. One time I attended an informal lecture by a well-known Japanese quilt artist. They had various boxed lunches and we sat in a section of Tokyo Dome and had lunch while she spoke. I didn't see how much a tour to the quilt show would be, but it would be difficult for some people to go on their own.

I can only imagine how wonderful this show would be. If you go, please, please, take and post lots of pictures for us to see

They have certainly taken quilting to a new level.......

That trip is a a BIT over my personal travel budget! But for those who can, enjoy!
