Thank goodness for youtube. Thank goodness so many in the future will be able to watch her and learn from her as so many of us have done. There is a sadness in the quilt world today and so much gratitude for all she taught us and shared with us.

We've lost a couple of great sewing and quilting teachers lately. So sad to hear about them. They are in heaven now and just quilting away. They left a great legacy behind.

I'm sorry to hear the news. A friend of mine was a supporter of the local PBS channel, she would knit Dr. Who scarves for the fundraisers. She took me to a meet and greet and I was able to meet with Kaye, such a gracious lady she had been at a booth at Sew Expo and remembered me from all those thousands of people who passed through.

I also have met Kaye, a number of times and have most of her books and rulers. She lived Up North from me, I am in the Thumb of MI. Yes, a very nice caring quilter.

So sorry for Mrs. Wood's family and friends. Always sad to lose a quilter.

I think ya'll need to recheck this. I went to her website & checked. What it said was that there has been a death in the family, but did not specify who it was. The people that own the business now is not Kaye herself. She retired when she sold the business to them in 2010 & moved to the SW somewhere. I tried to find Kaye's orbituary & could nor find one, so I guess she's still alive.

Kaye was one of the first quilting teachers I remember. I just adored her! Glad I got to meet her in Paducah in the 90's.

I got to take a class from Kaye many years ago. She was so nice and very funny in person. And I learned a lot. In her terms, I am a pointed, not pointless person. Pointless people avoid points when possible or don't worry about cutting them off. Pointed people like the challenge and try to get each point perfect.

Her facebook page says she died during surgery to implant a pacemaker.

The posting said she had a heart attack, coded at the hospital, brought her back, then attempted a pacemaker and she passed away during the surgery. This was a shock to her family and friends. So sad. Great teacher and quilter. Kaye will be missed
