Yeah, Cindy, you know I want the case and you want me to make the coffee while I'm at it! You're too funny!

cbridges22 02-16-2012 06:59 PM

cbridges22 02-17-2012 07:03 AM

OK are we all ready to go?I hate that julie won't make it,I don't know why she has to go to Lake Tahoe!I am thinking about what project to bring and I was thinking about doing some FMQ,anyone good at that so they could teach me?

reeskylr 02-17-2012 09:17 AM

I know I'm ready to go. lol

I can't FMQ either. :)

sew cornie 02-17-2012 01:29 PM

Can't FMQ yet and still pondering which project to bring. Still over 2 months to go, but it will come fast.

reeskylr, it will be nice to meet you in person. You were in my group for Boom 5.0 last summer. :0)

Oooh, that could be fun! Whadda ya'll think? Should we do a swap? We could pick one size/style (ie. 9" Churn Dash or 12" Sawtooth Star or whatever) and could do it like the FQ swaps we've done before: bring a block, take a block.

Or maybe we could each bring a set of 3" 9-patch blocks to pass out, bringing enough to share with everyone. We'd each then take home 15 blocks . . . one of our own blocks plus one from each person there. Can you imagine what each of us would create with identical sets of 9-patch blocks? We'd come out with 15 completely unique little quilts and maybe we could bring them back to share at a Fall retreat (am I planning ahead too much to be mentioning that right now? LOL). 9-Patches are quick and easy, especially when strip pieced.

Thoughts???

reeskylr 02-17-2012 04:57 PM

I'm all for that. We could do sets and folks could work on them, if they have nothing else. Hm, maybe send this to the email list. Woo.

cbridges22 02-17-2012 05:02 PM

I'm good with what ever,a block swap would be fun.We just decide on the size of the block and each bring enough to swap!

sew cornie 02-17-2012 09:50 PM

I'll send the suggestion out by email in case someone doesn't check in here. We'll see what everyone thinks of the idea.

I want to say how sorry I am to have missed this get together Karen. How wonderful of you to act as hostess in your home. Darn, darn, darn. Well, maybe it will be possible to meet at the Sewing Expo in Puyallup March 1 thru 4 or again in Portland as there is to be a quilt show The Portland Quilt Show at the end of March.

I live in SW Washington so am out of the way but wouldn't have missed your doo if I had known in time. Thank you Cindy

reeskylr 02-18-2012 10:38 AM

If someone drops, Cindy, I'm sure you could fill the spot!

jlynnbach 02-22-2012 11:02 AM

I would like to know more informations about the spring retreat. I have just started quilting and would love to meet new friends.

I don't know about the spring retreat (at one time I heard it was full) but there is another opportunity you might be interested in. Do you belong to the Mid Valley Quilt Guild in Salem? Quilt College is in April this year, at Rickreall fairgrounds, and it is a lot of fun. It is $15 for two days of classes if you are a member, $25 if you are not, and fully worth it. Here's the link - http://www.midvalleyquiltguild.com/quilt-show/College/ - hope to see you there.

I will be at the Puyallup event next weekend, does anyone want to meet up?

cbridges22 02-26-2012 07:06 AM

Wish I could,I think I am going to the one in March in Portland.

2 Doods 02-26-2012 07:14 AM

Julie-
Cindy and I will be there Friday and Saturday.
Faith and Karen are coming too. I think the same days.
I have never been before, so where would be a good place to meet?

sew cornie 02-27-2012 01:19 PM

I'm not going to Puyallup but I think I'm going to the one in Portland in March. DH brought a flyer home about it a few weeks ago and I have it on the calendar so as long as nothing more pressing comes up, I'll go to that one.
