I am so excited we are leaving for the Madison Quilt Expo Thursday (starting day). I went last year and had a great time. They have a wonderful quilt judging area along with classes and guest speakers.

I'll be heading to Madison for a day trip on Saturday. I've never been to the Expo before and am really looking forward to it. I've not signed up for any of the classes but since I'm only spending a day, I figure I won't have enough time to just "see" everything anyway. Maybe next year I can make it a couple of days.

Wish I could go and I'd probably do it if it was 100 miles closer. I did signup for the brochure and e-newsletter so maybe I'll get to go next year.

I am Praying I can get there! I havent seen my new work schedule, so I am waiting, since I just started this job, I cant ASK for it off!

Yes! I'm going with 5 other quilters who are in a breakfast bee with me. We are going on Saturday and will spend the whole day. We make the trip from the Milwaukee area, which is only about 1-1/2 hours east of Madison.

Oh :-( Now you went and made me homesick. I am from Madison, graduated from the University and my whole family still lives in the area. I wish I could go but Texas is a long way to travel. :|

Hey fellow Madison Quilt Expo "goers"!!

I posted a "thread" for anyone wanting to meet up at the Quilt Expo, but basicly we are meeting in the lobby by the stairs on Saturday at around 12:00 / 12:15...
I am bringing a little sign that will say "Quilting Board"!!

As far as I remember, there is an open staircase right by the front windows in the middle of the lobby....

Can't go on Saturday, but was thinking of tomorrow (Friday) of driving over. Been to expo for other things in past (horse shows, model train shows).

My mom and I went last year, it was lots of fun. I took a day of vacation and drove 4 hours to go to it. Hope everyone has fun.

did you get to meet other board members at the show???

when we met in Indiana this month, we pinned a piece of fabric to our top and that was a sign that we were from the quilting board and met at a certain time, was so much fun

Wasn't it just great! I really enjoyed my two days there and got lots of good tips for quiting as well. The quilt show had hundreds of beautiful quilts. I can't imagine the hours that were involved. Already planning to go next year and maybe get a group from my LQS.
