Paducah Ky - AQS Quilt Show

I have been asked if I would like to go as she wants to go but will not travel that far by herself. She has a friend that we can stay for $25 a night which includes breakfast. There is three of us going, I'm so excited.

I was wondering if any of my quilting board friends are going to be there and if so is there a meet and greet?

I will be there with my camo hat wearin' hubby! I can't wait!

I am going with a two bus group from Indianapolis. Been doing it for over 15 years. Taking my mominlaw so I will mostly be showing her a good time this year. She is not a quilter but loves doing new things so seeing the quilts should be fun.

Thankfully this year there will be less water.

Thats the one on April right? I think I'm going to go with my mom. I know that this years is soon and its coming withing an hour or so travel time so I may venture there but I'm not sure yet.

Make sure you go to Carson Park to the Eleanor Burns Show (free) and her huge fabric tent. Last year the fabric was $5.00 per yard. Have a great time.

I'm really lucky to live within an hour of Paducah! Even when I taught school, I managed to go at least one day after school! It's a tremendous experience just being with all the quilts and all the people. What I would like to do is go to the Houston show someday!

I would love to be going, I envy all of you who can go. Take lots of pictures and write about your experiences when you return! I'm going to love hearing about all of them.

I'm going with my mom. I've recently moved to Paducah. This will be my third year in a row. It has been so much fun sharing this with my mom. Hope to see yall there.

The lady that is taking us, told me this is a must and I'm looking forward to meeting her.

Going to Paducah is a great trip--a group of friends and I have been going for the past 5 or 6 years together--the quilts are always spectacular and the shopping is so much fun--one thing we always do is have strawberry shortcake at the boy scout stand--yummy--it is about 3 hour drive from STL

The Paducah Quilt Show is one of the Most Seen Quilt Shows on the circuit! It is hugh and one that is where the most money is spent by quilters!!! Please stop by the OLISO Booth 4510 and talk to my husband Dennis!!! He will be demonstrating the best and hottest steam iron on the market!!!

I'm going for the first time. My cousin and I are going on the road next Wed for 3 weeks and will be visiting other cousins in OH & NC. These are areas I've never been before and am excited to get on the road! I'm sure we will have a great time in Paducah--she's been before and says it's great.

WHere do you park and is there bus or tram service to Carson Park?

Grandma Peg 04-06-2012 01:21 PM

Lucky you! It is so much fun and so much to see and buy. Went a few years ago. Two girls from our guild were juried in with a wallhanging and a quilt. They are so excited and their work is wonderful. Have a great time.

What day are you going? I will be there on Thursday our guild rented a bus.

Hi! My hubby and I have been going for a few years now. There is trolly and bus service just for the show all over the main parts of Paducah. Go to www.americanquilter.com and click on shows. It is the AQS site and all the info you need is there.

Definitely get the strawberry shortcake that was mentioned earlier. It is delicious! And Whalers Catch, real close to the museum, always has a great lunch and a special adult beverage for us quilters. :)

I have a LATE submittal for the quilters. I have housed quilters previously but years ago....but I have available the following in there is a last minute scrambling for rooms that the quilters need....
I have a 1 BR with full bed and full bath and living room and kitchenette available for 2012 Quilt Show for any last minute quilters....CLEAN, private entrance, email me at [email protected] for picture inside and outside....it is furnished of course and in the LR is a letdown and out futon NICE for at least 1 person....located on Southside Paducah off of the LOOP...easy access to the loop and to downtown....It is next door of course to my long wooden ranch house....nice and quiet, completely private ....very reasonable....270-908-1287 I did submit my paper on file with the proper procedure in the downtown office.....just thought I would put it on the forum. No breakfast, but I furnished a large basket of breakfast sweets, milks, juices, and water in the fridge....
