I was reading the latest email newsletter from Flynn Quilt Company and came across this information about an upcoming exhibit from the American Quilt Art Museum.
The exhibit is Infinite Variety: Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts. Admission is Free:-) The location will be at the Park Avenue Armory; 643 Park Avenue; New York City You will have the opportunity to see 650 red and white American quilts -- all from one private collection! I will be with you in thought. I just thought some board members might be able to attend. Sure hope so... |
I hope to be in the city that week to visit my daughter. That would be awesome to do while she is at work. Thanks so much for sharing the info.

WOW!! Aren't all of you lucky who live/visit in this area :D:D:D

Thanks for the heads up- every once in a while I can get up there- it helps to have a specific goal! :)

And even better:
The Manhattan quilt guild, Empire Quilters, will be having their bi-annual quilt show at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) that same weekend. It's always a fantastic show, with great vendors, and definitely worth the visit. So if you're planning to come in for the exhibit, it would be worth your while to stop by the quilt show as well. http://empirequilters.net/pg/eqshow2011.html Enjoy your visit to NYC! Oh, and I just got the postcard from the armory advertising the Red/White quilt show. STUNNING. I can't find the same image online anywhere. I'll try to scan it later. It's going to be an awesome display. http://www.folkartmuseum.org/infinitevariety |
i have gone to this quiltshow.anyone that can take the long Island railroad into PennStation can walk from there,it is 8 short blocks. Realy it's not a long walkand those who can't can take a taxie down. The show is well worth the trip to see alone.I will be here too.Joanne
