My DD is living in Milwaukee the next two years for college, so I will be visiting there!

OK, immediately in the Milwaukee metro area:

My favorite: Patched Works, 13330 Watertown Plank Road, Elm Grove, WI (all kinds of quilting fabrics from 30's to Contemporary, lots of batiks). Western suburb of Milwaukee, 20 minutes from downtown)

The Quilted Basket, N88W16599 Main Street, Menomonee Falls, WI (a Thimbleberries shop, flannels, batiks, nice all-around selection). Northwestern suburb of Milwaukee, about 30 minutes from downtown)

Material Maters, W62N580 Washington Avenue, Cedarburg, WI (nice all-around shop, specializes in equipment and notions for long-arm quilters, nice all-around fabric selection, lots of kits for bags, etc.) Northern suburb of Milwaukee, about 45 minutes north of downtown.

There are some shops in Racine and Kenosha, WI if you want a road trip!

Contact me when you will be in town and I'd be happy to share the informal shop hop with you. I do work full time during the day, and most of these shops are not open evenings, so consider that for planning purposes.

Aw, Thanks Nancy, that is so sweet! I havent ever really spent ANY time in a city that large, I never really realized how huge Milwaukee IS!

I've only been to Patched Works in Elm Grove a couple times and spent lots of time in there (not to mention lots of $$)!! If you know when you'll be heading there, would love to meet! About a 30-min drive for me. karen
