Some of us in So CA have been wanting to meet each other. It looks like we will be meeting on Sat., Feb. 19th between 10 am and 2 pm in Placentia, CA. The address is: Placentia Presbyterian Church, 849 N. Bradford, Placentia. From anywhere get to the 57 freeway south of the 60 fwy and north of the 91 fwy. Take Yorba Linda Blvd EAST about 1 mile to Bradford Ave. Take Bradford SOUTH to the church (a couple of blocks on the right) Take the driveway to the back parking lot and the room is 408 next to the parking lot. There will be a sign for our meeting. I will be there at 9:30. Bring show and tell quilt items. All are welcome. We are about 2.5 hours south from Bakersfield and 1 hour north from San Diego. PM me if you want more info. VernaL

I am so glad you are getting together. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this one. I hope we have one again soon. I look forward to seeing photos

I will have to look at my calendar. I know I have something in the evening that I have to be there by 4:30 and I'm a couple hours north.

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 01-25-2011 10:44 PM

I am not too far away but will have to see if I can make it. We are scheduled to be out of town that weekend but if that doesn't happen, I will join you for a while. The Saturday before that I have a heart bargello class so hopefully it will be far enough along I can bring that to show. I have posted the fabrics today to get opinions of fabric options for it.

Wished I could come but DS is getting married. Maybe next time. Have fun without me!

I will be moving from West Virginia to COrona in April, hope I will be able to connect with you all then, I will miss my WV quilters and need to find new friends.

That sounds really nice; however, I will not be able to make this one. Please keep me posted as to other meetings.

I think that I will be able to come too! Do I need to bring anything? Do you have a phone number?

VernaL 02-03-2011 12:41 AM

Just bring some show and tell. We can discuss lunch when we get together. I will try to have some water and sodas for a small donation (my costs). And I can see about getting some sandwich rolls or maybe some footlong turkey or veggie sandwiches from Subway. Close by is a Carl's Jr, Magic Wok, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Del Taco, and some larger restaurants.
If you would like my cell phone no., please pm me. I will try to be at the meeting room by 9:30 am. with my phone.
I am looking forward to meeting any of you who are able to come.

So, are we in?

How many of us So Cal Quilters will get together next Saturday?

Jim's Gem 02-14-2011 05:30 PM

I have too many things going on next weekend to be able to make the 3 1/2 hour round trip drive. Hopefully next time I will be able to meet.

VernaL 02-14-2011 07:43 PM

Yes we are. I was going to put a new reminder in the meetings section this evening. I think I had 5 yes responses besides myself. But, I really didn't ask people to respond. So I hope we have more of us. I will get in a notice later. We have been pruning a tree all afternoon and finally are having dinner.

If I can make it I will.... still have to see, really don't want to do the grapevine in the snow, or get stuck :)

katvert 02-14-2011 10:50 PM

Wish I could make it but my son had tee-ball practice at that time.
If there are any other meet-ups or anyone in the East Ventura County/San Fernando Valley let me know.

grammiec 02-16-2011 11:15 AM

No, it is north of Chapman. It is just a few feet south of Bradford and Madison. There is a stop sign there. It is closer to Yorba Linda Blvd than Chapman. There are 2 churches next door to each other. We are meeting at the Presby Church and St Joseph's Catholic is just south of the Presby Church. Hope to see you Sat.

grammiec 02-19-2011 05:31 PM

How did the get together go--wanted to come--but it wasn't raining when I got up so.....had to work in the yard

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 02-19-2011 05:37 PM

So sorry I couldn't make it.... We were supposed to be out of town but ended up having to take 90 yr old father-in-law to get his taxes done. How did it all turn out? Did anyone take pics to post here? Hopefully another get together will be planned again soon. I would love to attend.

Grama Lehr 02-20-2011 07:40 PM

Vernal, how did it go? Will you be able to post some pictures? Marie

VernaL 02-20-2011 09:53 PM

It was a good meeting. There were 5 of us. I enjoyed meeting the women and they all brought wonderful items to show. Some brought items and asked questions about them and others showed us how they were doing applique, quilt-as-you-go and using machine embroidery. One woman brought a pillow that she had won first prize on at the fair. Another woman was working with a panel and had a wonderful sense of color in fabrics she was adding to it. Everyone did beautiful work. I think we should have another meeting in the fall.

Jim's Gem 02-20-2011 10:21 PM

Glad that it went well!!! Maybe next time I can come.....
