We're going to be traveling through Texas and hitting all the major cities. I've already gotten a list of quilt shops off of google. Since there are so many of them, I was hoping to get some feedback about the really good ones. Which ones are your favorites?

Thanks,
Nancy

I found a couple near Marshall, Tx. (That's where we're going) and hopefully I can get DH to stop in Hot Springs, AR at Hickory Hills Sewing Center. I've ordered from there and they seem like such nice people. I'm so overwhelmed by my stash that it's going to have to be some fantastic fabric for me to buy any but I want to look for some notions.

Thanks for such prompt replies!

We're going to zig-zag our way from Amarillo to Houston. My husband is what they call a "Railfan" and we're going to be following the mainlines of the Santa Fe and Missouri Pacific Railroads. (It's definitely HIS vacation this year!) So I'm going to check out the quilts shops along the way!!

We're both excited and May 28th can't get here fast enough!! We'll also see our 8 month old twin grandbabies in San Antonio!! YAY!! That's what I'm waiting for!! I can't wait to get my hands on them!!

(Aiden is with me in my avatar picture! Ava was sleeping!)

LOL, we're going to see DH's oldest son and family. We get to visit with our 5 yr old twin great-granddaughters! But we'll be traveling from Il. to Marshall, Tx. I'm doing the same thing, mapping the way via quilting shops. We're leaving Thursday the 27th as soon as DD gets her report card.

If you go to Amarillo - I love Sister's Scraps. (If the name isn't Sister's Scraps, it's "sister" something.)

A little expensive, but they have great variety (lots of batiks)and friendly, helpful staff.

Of course, my quilt shop experience is limited, as there aren't a lot around here. :)

Butterflyblue,

Thanks for the heads up on Sister's Scraps. Amarillo is our first stop!

Graham Texas has Francis' Frabics on the square, it's on Oak St. The store is small, but there is more fabric in there than you can imagine for the size of the building.
