thanks everyone. We wont leave now till Saturday since the docs want to do an endoscopy to make sure they did not nick his esophagus during the surgery still having a lot of pain swallowing and the feeling that something is stuck down there. That is OK just leaving on Saturday instead and we will be able to leave earlier that way. I am looking forward to looking up all the places you guys suggested. Plus I should figure out where I am going to be.
Am printing off what you sent Ghostrider and am taking it with me.

Don't forget Keepsake Quilting is in New Hampshire, not very far away. We spend summers in Vermont and I always make a couple of trips there.

A word of advice to those not familiar with northern New England terrain. Although Vermont and New Hampshire are smaller states and have several north-south interstate highways, it takes much more time than you may think to travel east-west. We put roads up, down, over and around things instead of bulldozing it all flat so cars can go fast from place to place. Just remember, wherever you are going (especially Keepsake Quilting!) it will probably take you longer than you thought!! ;) Take time to smell the pines and enjoy the scenery! :-D We love visitors!!

This is a link to the Quilters Companion Website. It lists several Quilt Shops in Vermont. I have their book. It is a wonderful resource for traveling. My husband and I are leaving for a vacation to the panhandle of Idaho and western Montana. My Quilters's Companion is going with me.

I second this book, Quilters Travel Companion, plus the website. It will give you everything you need for Vermont.
