I'm headed to Virginia Beach to visit my grandchildren! I'm taking a little Hello Kitty sewing machine by Janome to my granddaughter as a surprise. Does anyone know of any quilt shops or fabric stores for me to visit while I am there? I'm sure Olivia will want to have new fabric to sew with on her new machine.

Hancocks on VA BCH BLvd lots of quilting fabrics there.... then there is a Joannes in Chesapeake on Military Highway and Greenbriar parkway
.. there is a quilt store in Kempsriver shopping center. |
My brother lives in Virginia Beach! If you see him, tell him Hi! for me! I bet your GD will be thrilled with the new sewing machine, and the added bonus of getting to go shopping with grandma and getting new material. What a treat!!! How old is she?

What a great surprise for DGD, and getting to pick out her own fabric too!!! :D:D:D

She will be 7 in September. Over Easter Break I tested her abilities and desire to quilt and she completed a baby quilt and was very proud. So now I'm surprising her with her own machine! I will tell your brother hi!

Fabric Hut on Little Creek Road in Norfolk is my favorite. Here's a website for the local guild that lists the local quilt shops with websites, addresses and such. Hope it helps:

my daughter is out that way, wave to her for me.

I love that area. Spent 4 1/2 yrs in Norfolk as a Navy wife. I think I remember the Fabric Hut. Are Piece Goods stores still open?
|
No more piece goods...... I would love to find one though
|
Dawn is right.....Piece Goods has been long gone. I used to work at the one that was at Hilltop. I miss that store and it's Customer Appreciation Sales......lol!
|
What a great gift for your Grand daughter. Have a great time!

Hi Kathy, I am sorry I can't help you, but I have never been there. God bless. Penny
